Shit! Socks can't stand it when I go out or even if I'm too busy to pay attention to her. She gives me the "stink eye" and snot attitude or demands twice as much attention later. But I made her a spoiled brat so I have no one to blame but myself.

Pepper does, my others don't. She is near me to 98% of the day and even doesn't wait in the lounge when I briefly go to the toilet...nope...she follows me to ensure I am not going out [8\|]

Mine are both spoiled rotten and it shows. They both experience separation anxiety, and follow me around all day from room to room. They don't like it when I leave the house for more than an hour or so, I'm supposed to be here, dammit! The last time they were left with a friend when we went on a trip, Trilby (the nervy black one) didn't eat for 3 days. Then he was in a snit for a couple days when we got him home. (You guys left me, you can't be trusted with my attentions.)

I doubt it, she has tons of toys and lots of places to sun and nap. I'd be willing to bet after 5 minutes, she's forgotten I'm gone and off doing "fun kitty stuff" LOL.

I am pretty sure she does experience some thing like that. I am not sure if it is anxiety but she acts like she misses me.....When I go out and have been gone for hours she is always right near the front door when I come home and she flops down and rolls over and wants her belly rubbed immediately (but she likes that all the time!)...She also seems a bit more emotional. I am always surprised though to find that her toys are all strewn around as I didn't think she played with her toys when she is alone.

OMG! I was in the hospital in the beginning of March for almost 2 weeks and even though Socks had plenty of food and water, when I came home she was a terrified mess hiding in a cupboard under the stairs. Socks is small to start with, weighing only about 7 pounds. So you can imagine that any weight loss makes her looked starved. I came home to find her hips and ribs sticking out, her coat looking horrible and her being terrified. Her food dish was overflowing with food and had been for days (I checked with a friend who came by to feed her). Once I was home she gobbled down all that food in less than 2 days, poor thing. If I have another hospitalization, I don't know if she can survive it. It's even worse when you consider she was pretty much ferral when I got her 2 years ago.

Makes me wonder if she was ferral due to being dumped at a very young age instead of being born outside and so fearing now to be dumped again...just a thought... in regards to food I realised that pepper (another skinny lady) prefers to eat in company. At my previous flat food often went old (at that time I had two, not five cats) and I realised that she did eat as long as i was busy in the kitchen but not anymore once I left the kitchen...since then she eats in the lounge permanently, as that way she simply is eating more and I am able to live in hope that she might gain more weight some day [8\|]

Doubtful Quigley experiences anything other than, lack of food, anxiety. His primary attitude seems to be one of resigned annoyance. He lives with three dogs, two of which firmly believe their day is incomplete unless they've given Quig a good mauling. He will even flop to the ground when he sees Nala coming. He knows he's going to get it, best to present his best side.....the fat gut. Sophie simply LOVES to kick his ass first thing in the morning. She bounces off the back door, trying to see out the window, if he is there, waiting to be let in. Then, when I open the door she hides around the corner, waiting, trembling with excitement.......for him to walk over the threshold. As soon as he is in, it is game on.

Yes he does. Emo is well named. I have roommates, so he is never alone, but when I am away for even overnight, he gets squirrley. He tends to spend most of his time under my bed until I get home from work. The funny thing is, when I am home, he's not all that focused on me. Until I go to bed...then he is all about the kitty-lovin.

When we first got him, our husky definitely had separation anxiety and was destructive when left alone. My current foster cat is happy when His servant returns and is waiting at the door. The cats I had with my ex husband would be in a snit when we returned from a weekend away.
