I mean, CM could emulate e-Bay so that people can list a 'Shag Me Now' option.

yeah, I think CM could revamp their page like an actual store.

Enter it to go to your desired dom/sub/switch whatever and then put the "shag me now" request into the trolley

However as far as I'm aware asking someone a question doesn't cost anything.

not yet, but hey, watch the space here, times can always change

Feel free to put a city, town, county, general area, whatever, in the "city" field of your profile.  Then when searching for people in your (whatever), put that word into the "keyword or city" search box and click "search".   Many people already do this.  It appears to work quite well for them.

or...they simply don't whine about it, in case it doesn't work well for them

but it is. just 1 person at any given moment. you may correspond with 100 people a day, but you do so 1 person at a time, so for that little span of time there are just the two of you, all the others are put away on the shelf and they do not matter.

I don't have inexhaustible spare time, I have a busy life. If I have 10 messages from new people and 2 don't bother putting location, I'll give more attention to the ones that did.

Even if they're too far, at least I have that piece of information and can ask them how they propose to serve me from that location.

No one is required to put the information, but it's to their own detriment.

i'll put, or not, whatever info i like in my profile. i always have whether looking or not. if you don't like what you see, or don't see, then move on by. if it's that important to you then ask me, if not i don't see your problem.

my playmate and i travel just short of two hours just by train to see each other. that doesn't include the 1-11/2 hour to get either to or from the train station his end either. it's worth it so maybe you just need to be a bit more flexable.

800 miles is a long way when you're walking.

And it's not about required information, but people who profess to be seeking but give so little information that it's not worth the time to play 20 questions when there are plenty of others clearly in a doable distance. Sure it doesn't take long to ask one person a few questions. But it isn't just one person, is it?

I agree with the OP and Ariane. People should be free to put what they wish but I think its unfortunate to see profiles with no identifier of location beyond country. My profile isn't great so I'm not preaching but the UK is a pretty big place with a large number of kinksters so giving a rough location like Liverpool as opposed to London shouldn't really be an issue of privacy IMHO.

erm, your profile may not be great, but then surely for others to know it would have to be visable in the first place wouldn't it? i'd rather see someone's profile and have to ask questions about where they are in a country than click and see nothing at all because it's actually hidden (((shrugs)))

Why is it unfortunate when a person isn't interested to date anyone over here?

Folks who are in contact with me on the other side, know where I am living and guess what, some have even my phone number as we spoke on the phone...so quite frankly, it doesn't harm to make some effort to get to know other people, instead of expecting to get everything served on a silver plate

~Fast Reply~

When I made my profile, I entered my zip code, which doesn't show in my profile. However when I open a profile, it tells me how many miles they are from me. I know UK must have zip codes so what's the problem.

Personally, I am going to read a message someone sends me, THEN look at their profile. If the mail caught my attention, and their profile is interesting, I will respond even if just to say thanks, but being in New Zealand, you are geographically undesirable.

Yes, they are just one person. But they may be THE person, so then it's your loss.

that's fair enough, nobody said you had to reply to every message you get.

but what if they don't want to serve you? don't you do friends? or are you one of those annoying dommes that requires instant submission form all and sundry?

then why are you complaining about it?

I made it invisible as I'm not really seeking at the mo'. I was just saying that my profile isn't brilliant so I'm not standing too much in judgement. However, when visible it attempts to answer a lot of the obvious questions to aid others viewing it.

If someone isn't seeking then fair enough but AFAIK most on here are and I was really commenting about them.

Of course getting to know others is a good thing in itself but I see there being different categories of information. Basic info on region is near essential IMHO. It's not the same as personal details about preferences, fantasies etc. which I wouldn't always expect to be served up on a platter. I live in an even smaller country near the UK and feel its just as relevant there.

Why do people seem to think that putting there location has the UK is information anyone needs, if it does not say what area of the UK. Or do they think that 800 miles is an acceptable distance to travel to go and meet somone. UK is a big place, it combines 4 countries, at least put what country you are in! Surely it is better to at least put what county you are in so people have an idea of where in the UK you are.

The way I see it......not putting your actual location is a lot like not putting a picture on your profile. It means you can't really be to serious about any of this.
