One percent of its population pays any taxes.  It's a highly conservative Muslim country.  They beg money from the IMF to continue (and no doubt handouts from the US as a pivotal partner in the war against terrorists, many of whom are holed up in Pakistan).  And they employ TGs as tax collectors.  http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/asiapcf/04/14/pakistan.tax.collectors/index.html?hpt=Sbin

"Pay up or we will come back and dance in your shop!"

That is just funny.

I think that it would work. I know that I would not fail to pay my taxes if the threat was waitresses coming to sing "Happy Birthday" at me.

LOL

When I have a party show up to celebrate someone's birthday, they usually bring cake for us to slice. As we present it, everyone at the table sings... i do not. When the candles are blown out, my typical comment to the birthday boy/girl is... "My gift to you is not signing happy birthday to you which would make your ears bleed".

LOL

The other half and I have an agreement that if we do a meal out on a birthday there will be no public singing. I can see where little kids might enjoy it, but for adults it seems like a form of public humiliation that I just do not understand.
