This is just a friendly reminder to complete your IRS tax return today. Hopefully Republican budget cuts will not impact IRS tax collectors and auditors who bring in a lot of money for the agency.

All I want to say is the article makes some strident comments about military expenditures and some people believe there are hidden expenditures which if included would bring the total to half the United States budget or tax expenditures.

Tax Day: A Third Of Your Tax Money Is Spent On Wars And Security

In fiscal-year 2010, the US Department of Defense budget accounted for 20 percent of the US federal budget or 28 percent of tax revenues. However, if non-direct DOD expenditures are included, defense spending was approximately 35 percent of total budget expenditure. According to the Congressional Budget Office, defense spending grew 9 percent annually between fiscal-year 2000 and fiscal-year 2009. For fiscal-year 2010, Department of Defense spending amounted to 5 percent of the United States GDP. For fiscal-year 2012, defense and security expenditures combined are projected to be between $ 1.030 and $1.5 trillion.

In comparison with other countries military spending, in 2009 the United States military spending accounted for 40 percent of global defense expenditure. It is currently six times higher than the military budget of China. The United States is responsible for between 2/3 and 3/4 of worldwide military spending. Talking about fiscal responsibility without addressing the madness of war and security spending is a farce played at the expense of the American people. If America’s political class was serious about the budget deficit issue, they would first reconsider the United States imperialist policies which have been bleeding the US treasury dry since World War II.

The IRS should be abolished; then we wouldn't be having this problem.

If our "allies" were to pay their fair share of defense costs the United States wouldnt have to shoulder so much of the load.

"If our "allies" were to pay their fair share of defense costs the United States wouldnt have to shoulder so much of the load."

We are the occupational defense departments of most of those "ally" governments. Our friends, bought and paid for. If we had any real friends this would not be going on.

Do you see anyone else's military bases in the US ?

Yeah, that's a ood point, if America were to scale down it's military spending so that it was not the world''s defence department, I wonder what would happen. Sure, maybe America might get itself out of the recessional mire and still be able to defend it's borders, but what of the world devoid of the police force. Further to that, could America still enforce it's interests overseas, to obtain the favourable markets. I suppose the question should be asked, who does world policing serve, the majority or the minority.

But weapons making being one of the US's biggest businesses, maybe they need America's status of world defence department to further their business.

The folks in the UK would start bitching that we are not doing enough. Brain would start a new thread with pictures and the left would find a way to blame it on the right.

Of course you still would not have told me what you think I am afraid of, but what ever

Oh and to the OP on the subject of the thread: That's nice dear.

How about this, if the British Government started bitching, tell them to go forth and multiply, for as long as America keeps going the way it is, it gives licence to the assholes in our government to continue wasting resources and lives, we also could do with keeping out of world situations.

So, what are you scared of, well that depends on where your fears lie, but my guess from these forums alone is many Americans are shit scared of what their government and rabid media tell them is true, there is a commie under the bed et al

"National" defense ? Damn, it was bad enough when national meant the whole of central and north America, now it means the whole world ?

Tell Webster to get up and write a new dictionary. The old one has expired.

Term, yeah, we spend way too much on "defence" for other countries!
And in the meantime that Mexican border is wide open.

Are you suggesting that someone shouldn't comment on a situation unless they live in the immediate area and it directly affects them?

Nope, I am just asking why the mexican situation scares him so much that he feels to continuously bring it up on these forums when he personaly according to his location on here, is very far away from any likely problem.

I an jusat trying to ascertain what his problem is bearing in mind many immigrants come to the US via air and claim by various means a reason to stay and reap from the US.

OK, we got one commenting on the US. We got a guy up north commenting on Mexican border problems and we got open borders, and a challenge as to why certain things are of anyone else's business.

I am going to STFU now because this really looks like it is going to get interesting.

Show me the post where I said someone shouldn't be allowed to comment on situations in other countries or STFU. You do this on a regular basis and never back up your lies and then you wonder why people don't pay attention to what you say.
