The Gang of Six...

Senator Mark Warner of Virginia
Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois
Sen. Kent Conrad of North Dakota
Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma
Sen. Mike Crapo
Sen. Saxby Chambliss — House Speaker John Boehner confidant.

Warner, Durbin, Conrad, Democrats.

Chambliss, Crapo and Corbin, Republicans.

Its a bipartisan group who may be proposing this. Dont try and make it into a one side vs another side.

^ Tazz,  that is how the article was noted.

Congress has their own retirement fund- so they could care less about SS.

You make a statement like yours, pahunkboy, and the truth comes out that your original arguement is not only untrue but misleading one of two things becomes true:

A) You deliberately tried to miss lead readers into thinking only Democrats proposed such an effort.

B) You failed to the check the information for both credibility and claification.

Likewise pahunk, do you have any idea how much it costs someone to become a Senator or Representative these days? They are by no means, in the 'middle' or 'lower' class incomes. As such, they are among the least likely to be affected if Social Security changes for the worst. Which of two groups are more likely to be affected if Social Security is diminished: A) The Lower Class, B) The Middle Class, or C) The Upper Class? And which group has traditionally been the one that has sought to diminished Social Security? (Hint, its the one left over from the previous question....)

So just for the record Tazz you feel that it is wrong to say a proposal is from one party if there are members of the opposition who support it?

It is dishonest to say so?

Its a bipartisan party. All members are proposing it. So to say its a Democrat who is proposing is extremely misleading.

I think the idea is that you are going to find someone from both sides of the aisle who don't support it, and that is true of any idea, no matter if one side, another or both come up with it.

See the problem when you say that Boeners compromise was conservative.

The issue is that in reality the fight is along the continuous lines of arch liberal thru and to arch conservative, which is gonna always leave somebody pissed off.

When did I ever say that?

Why are you incapable of responding to what I actually write?

I see no "yes or no" question. You asked how I felt about it and I gave you an answer.

No, you ducked it, which is certainly your right to do.

And it is very easy to see why.

Because I asked about the principle you were using, and you answered to the specific in a partisan way.

For quite obvious reasons.

My objection was to it being termed a decision made by a Democrat. Since they are all supporting the proposal, its not a Democratic decision, but a bipartisan one.

Nice try to spin.
