For me, the perfect PB&J consists of creamy Jif (never crunchy) and homemade black raspberry jelly or jam.

And since my real life initials are PB, I call dibs on......something......[8|]

for those like LadyPact I can do a Fluffenutter, instead of jelly use Marshmallow Fluff

Thank you for your willingness to be open on the subject.  However, the one true way of any form of marshmellows is s'mores!

Incidentally, those go great with reeses peanut butter cups, in keeping with your peanut butter theme.  [;)]

Fluuuuuuuuffffffff, mmmmmmmmm.  A hundred years have gone by since i have had a fluffernutter sandwich.  Damn...I'm going to buy some Fluff tonight after work.

Making a proper peanut butter sandwich is easy.  Start with some kind of chemically bleached and very soft bread like Wonder; the kind of bread that immediately turns to paste and lines your stomach and intestines for next 30 years.  Then use a superior peanut butter like Smuckers, all natural.  Open the jar shake in some extra salt (my doctor says my heart needs more sodium but then my dr. didn't like the bill he received for his divorce so i have to wonder if there is a correlation), and spread peanut butter on both pieces of bread.  Use the jelly of your choice; sissy's use Polaner because it only has 7 grams of sugar per serving while Welch's has about 13 and VOILA, the perfect pbj.  If making the sandwich for a kid going to school, put peanut butter on the top side of the sandwich and on another slice of bread with jelly in the middle and make a triple decker.  The peanut butter on both pieces of bread prevents the super spongy Wonder from absorbing the jelly.  If the lunch is packed for a kid, it spares him/her the embarassment of gooey, blue bread and spares you his/her juvenile (but richly deserved) wrath.

First let me say I have been doing this for years and the peanut butter sandwich community recognises me as a Master. Anyone not making their peanut butter sandwiches this way is certainly doing it wrong. There is only one proper way and its my way:

Sir Skippy,
I am offended by your statement.  You imply that it takes years of practice making peanut butter sandwiches to become a master.  Moreover, you also seem to imply that one needs to be formally recognized by the local PB&J community in order to be a "true" master.  I disagree with that.

A friend of mine made her first peanut butter & jelly sandwich last week.  She had never read about PB&J, she never studied under any other PB&J masters, and she had never been to any PB&J seminars.  Heck, she's never even watched any PB&J videos on YouTube.  Yet, her PB&J sandwich was the best that I ever ate.  In fact, I'd bet it was the best PB&J the world has ever seen.  So clearly she is a master.  I don't care what the stupid local PB&J community says.

It doesn't take any formal training, years of practice, or recognition by others to become a master.  Some are just born that way.  So there![sm=ass.gif]

There is no one proper way to make a PB&J but I have noticed that nobody but me seems to know the proper way to make a peanut butter and banana sandwhich. People always slice the banana and try to arrange the slices on the bread. THIS IS WRONG, PEOPLE!

How to create the perfect peanut butter and banana sandwhich:

Ingredients:

2 slices Strohman brand potato bread (the greatest tasting bread in the world, also excellent for grilled cheese sandwhiches). [NOTE: is not glutten free]
1 banana
2 tablespoons peanut butter (creamy or crunchy depending on preference)

Preparation:

Lay bread on counter top and press down with your hand to flatten the bread.
Spread peanut butter on bread.
Peel banana and break in half, place one half of banana on each slice.
Roll up sides of bread so that each resembles a banana hot dog.
Enjoy!

For extra decadence, dribble with chocolate syrup.

Decadence! But surely, a bit of whipped cream...

But if you really want to go for it... get some Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby.

or any good quality vanilla ice cream, with a spoon of smooth peanut butter on the side.

Ah, this is where British tradition saves the day. We always butter the bread. For any sandwich. Although these days we're all health conscious and do it with olive spread.

Peanut butter and butter sandwhichs are good! Horribly unhealthy for you... but gooooooooooood.

FR,

You're all going to die tomorrow unless you switch to MY WAY, which is organic sprouted Ezekial bread with organic peanut butter and organic strawberries.

KK

ps - it's peanut butter, banana, and HONEY, not chocolate syrup

The best PBJ is

Thick white bread, the type used for french toast.

fresh crunchy peanut butter (the type you grind up yourself)

Blackberry preserves.

Spread this on bread until it is gooey and running out the sides of the sandwich

Is this good for you? Nope, but neither is cheese cake, ice cream, a good margarita, or 100 other vices....
