How can a man, seated comfortably in a barcalounger, getting a blow job from a kneeling naked woman, not feel narcicstic? I think we all have a narcicstic asshole inside of us. BDSM is my way of dealing with it... it was either that or become a neo-nazi (and I hate nazis).

Of course not, they merely have narcissistic tendencies and feel that they are usually correct. They would never have a need to, for instance, correct the spelling in the subject line of someone's thread, b/c the misspelling was driving them crazy. Personally, I think dominants lean toward the Machiavelian.

The word, I do not think it means what you think it means. To take a few quick definitions: Extreme selfishness, with a grandiose view of one's own talents and a craving for admiration, as characterizing a personality type Self-centeredness arising from failure to distinguish the self from external objects, either in very young babies or as a feature of mental disorder inordinate fascination with oneself; excessive self-love; vanity. Psychoanalysis . erotic gratification derived from admiration of one's own physical or mental attributes, being a normal condition at the infantile level of personality development. So basically the OP is asking if all dominants are selfish, self centered, overly fond of themselves and have an overblown view of their abilities? Perhaps it might have been better to ask if all dominants are into having a power trip, or amazingly egotistical.

Trust me shadow-tiger he does know what the word means. We were having a conversation about Narcissus and why I wouldn't stop looking in a mirror....it started an argument. Which ended in a post by him.
