Information

Recently, a jury in Virginia found Jesus guilty of a crime and sentence to life in prison. And there was thunderous applause. This was a mock trial created to 'try' Jesus for Blashemy and handled under Virginia state law (complete with a court room). This was the brain child of a Mark Osler, a former US Attorney in Detroit. His arguement is that Virginia is second only to Texas in the number of executions held every year. He wanted to see if a jury would find Jesus guilty enough to warrent the death penalty.

Now, there are several problems with this 'court case'. Yes, it was a mock trial, but in the end it comes out as a twisted mockery of justice and the rule of law. One would think after the recent 'trial' of the Koran, Christians would have just 'a little' more wisdom to NOT put ANOTHER major religion on trial. That's the first problem, no one really thought this through on the basis of wisdom.

The second problem is the setting of the court room: Inside a church that is devoted to Jesus. Its like holding Smith & Wesson on trial because their product kills people.....in an arsenal! This alone, could have gotten Jesus off on a technicality, with the whole 'Seperation of Church and State'. While this was done with state laws, those laws have to follow federal laws....including the Bill of Rights.

Third, the person was being convicted of something that is 1) Not in State Law for Virgina, 2) Not on the books for US Federal Law, and 3) Created by another goverment all together (The Romans). That's right, Jesus was found guilty of breaking a law, sentenced to 'life in prison' for a rule that's not even on the books ANYWHERE within the USA.

Fourth, the prosecution failed in its duty to 'vet' the jury. The most obvious question that apparently was not asked "Do you know the Defendant?" If they did, the prosecution should have asked the judge to remove the person. Having the jury stacked 'for' or 'against' goes against the concepts the founding fathers put in place originally (not that any of them would have placed Jesus on the stand....). The fact that every member of the jury came from the church devoted to Jesus, should have been a BIG hint to the prosecution that the trial would not be fair to start with. Obviously the prosecution is oblivious to the situation.

Fifth....

....Jesus was apparently not given a chance to appeal to a higher court. Which is ironic given WHO he is....

So yes, in my opinion, this group is full of characcters who are a 'few clowns short of a full circus'.

That's one powerful court that can have someone executed 1,978 years in advance. What'll they think of next ?

T^T
