Budget Cuts are Meaningless Without Fed Transparency
Congress focused on issues surrounding government spending this week as talk of deficits, the national debt, and the debt limit saturated the airwaves.  This is a positive development.  In years past, there was very little concern over how much was spent here in Washington, how it was spent, or how much of our gross domestic product was being consumed by government.  That blissful ignorance naturally resulted in decades of government spending with impunity, bringing us to where we are today: trillions in debt with astronomical entitlement obligations that will be impossible to fulfill in the not too distant future.  So it is a good thing that there is so much political pressure now on our leaders to actually put the brakes on runaway spending. However, even the most generous estimate of the spending cut passed this week – $38.5 billion – is a paltry 3.5% of the $1.05 trillion in spending through the next 5 months.  This hardly makes a dent in our government's mountain of debt.  Even worse than that, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) stripped away the accounting sleights of hand and scored it as only $352 million in cuts, which works out to less than half of one percent of spending.  Still, the tiniest cut is better than the massive increases we have become accustomed to in federal budgets. Of course, our disastrous wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are not even included in this budget as they are considered emergency spending.  They constitute $3.3 billion in spending in the same period of time, so they more than cancel out any small cuts the warmongers may crow about.

The good news is if the American people elect the right politicians the deficit problem can be fixed in less than 10 years.

Termyn8or -> RE: Budget Cuts are Meaningless Without Fed Transparency (4/24/2011 5:32:06 AM)

I could fix it in ten minutes, but then a new car will be $1,000,000, a TV will cost $100,000 and a loaf of bread would be about fifty bucks.

"best estimates are over 110 trillion in the black! "

I don't doubt it. But the thing is who controls it ? The entire national debt is just a cunthair over ten tril now. Why not pay it off ?

I know why.

well what pisses me off is that they keep crying for more money claiming they are broke when they are loaded and all that money squirreled away they are causing higher inflation.  rape us with these fucking manufacture red bubbles so they can get more for their pals on wall street and take over over companies!

Too many radical demos depend on government handouts. we can't cut the budget. we must tax "the rich" more. then spread out that wealth, like ole Dear Leader says. What it means is to spread poverty. See, to me this is offensive. And quite un-American. November 2012 is our last best chance to take back America. The last chance.

Sorry--  but that ship has sailed.   Elections are a joke.

Starve the beast.   Stop funding the media, the big corporations-  stack silver.

It's called exploitation RealO. I'm sorry if you didn't have the upbringing I did, with criminals rich and poor, being able to see the interactions between. It really is just a game.

You ever have someone put $15,000 in your face to kill a city councilman ? I have. (they actually brought it to my house and I have no fucking idea how they found out where I lived) I didn't do it, and I can prove it because he is still alive, so don't start any shit about it. But the thing is, would that fifteen grand be well spent ? I mean what fucking kind of zoning variance was this MF looking for ? Really !

It's a game, the money is like monopoly money. It really is that simple and once you understand it that way, things just fall into place. But don't get me wrong, the players are not drawing to an inside straight.

We mean nothing more to them than a stalk of wheat in a cornfield. It really is like playing a game of monopoly. Strangely I never got that good at monoploly, but in a game of risk I was killer, back when I played that type of game.

Roll of the dice and armies die. It means nothing at all. That is the kind of people we are dealing with. They'll throw your ass out on the ice to freeze whether it's from Boardwalk or Mediterrainian Ave. Matters not. It's all in the game, and if you're lucky you can be a racecar for a short time. Ever notice how the person who takes the racecar usually loses ? The thinble usually wins. And in risk, never pick blue.

We are nothing but thimbles, racecars, rooks, spades, trumps, kings and spare tires. You know that.

Are you nuts ? The total of all the welfare in this country is a drop in the bucket. SS is getting big but what did you expect ? SS was a Ponzi scheme from  the start, it could only work as long as the WORKING population grew. Then the advent of poisoned marketable securities and such came about and gave the illusion of success.

Excessively taxing the rich is indeed like socialism or whatever and it is wrong. But they should pay their fair share. If you make $5.7 million a year, what the fuck do you care about a couple million ? But look at all the companies that moved jobs out of this country that now pay little or no US taxes. Is that right ? Hundreds of millions of profit derived FROM THIS COUNTRY, the greatest market in the world and they pay nothing ? Is that right ?

And 2012 doesn't mean shit. If you knew fucking anything you would know that the President is not a dictator. The President cannot fix this mess, all we can hope for is to make less more of a mess until our eventual downfall. And we WILL fall.

This situation, mathematically is not sustainable, and the idiots on both sides of the aisle will spend and spend until the interest on the national debt devours the entire GNP of this country. You know why ? Because their fucking buddies are the ones collecting it and they are who these fucking traitors really work for, not us. They will have a nice retirement and we will be eating dog food if we can get it.

You think we can vote our way out of this shit, give me a name. One fucking name. You don't have one do you ? So now what the fuck do we do in 2012 ? Vote for none of the above ? Actaully I like that idea, and for every scumbag, all 535 of them. Just don't have any of those leaches fucking up our country anymore. In fact execute every one of the motherfuckers. Get rid of that pesky pension they get, which incidentally WE DON'T.

Why don't they take SS like the rest of us ? Why is SS in danger ? Why is not their retirement fund in danger, even though they cost alot of people everything they had worked for over the years ? And when they bailed out the banls, what about the fucking people WHO ELECTED THEM ?

Yes, I would like some specific fucking instructions on just what to do in 2012 if you please.
