As I wondered allowed recently, how do people in this lifestyle view the Christian church, are there many folks who view Christianity as their religion and still very much enjoy the lifestyle? What would it look like if there were a church that were open to those who did practice, talked about the spiritual nature of BDSM...I'd love to hear people's opinion and wonder if that would be a congregation that anyone would like to be a part of.

Joining a congregation of a BDSM based Christian cult? I'm going to pass on that one, I think.

The Southern Baptists (I'm an agnostic but open minded about and study the beliefs of others) believe that "The wife should submit to her husband" Think 50's household. There is nothing wrong with a 50's household monogamous couple being as hardcore Christian as they like. I see no conflict whatsoever.

I would have no interest in going to church to talk about or hear a sermon on BDSM. Nor would I be interested in going to church to hear/discuss any individuals, or group of individuals, bedroom activities, nor how they work their personal relationship. Church for me is about the spiritual nature of my life, not a singular aspect of it and my personal relationship with God. YMMV. Christian is my religion and I most certainly can enjoy my lifestyle preference and have no struggle between that and my religion. mbmbn

Software updates only go in one direction your device doesn't tell it's manufacturer what to think or how to work. Similarly there is no real point debating your Christianity because it's either set in stone or it's meaningless. The only thing you can debate is if you understand it correctly and if you take that approach then you'll always be on the back foot; unable really have a debate where someone doesn't come along and say all you believe is wrong. Interpretation results in vagueness of the original message (if there ever was one) to the point where the message could be anything.

Not really an argument that can be entered into. We can't both be right so either you have better understanding of why people go or I do. I wouldn't say you are better qualified to say why someone goes just because you go. The point is that now with some things proclaimed to be merely metaphors and some things historical events it's hard to separate the two. It was an extreme example of how there isn't really any room for debate. Religious types should stop painting a church as a debating centre, it isn't never was.

I think there are church-going types who do practice male-led D/s, but they simply don't call it BDSM or identify themselves as being within any kind of 'lifestyle'. And actually, I think its quite common. It may even outnumber those who do identify themselves with any 'lifestyle' or apply a BDSM label to what they do.

FR Look for any Christian Church flying a rainbow flag (some even fly the bondage flags) or put any one of the initials/acronyms this whatever it is uses and you'll find scores.
