Just about anything related to being a good dom(me), slave, techniques, or anything BDSM at all really.

http://www.bestslavetraining.com/

That was an interesting more psychologically-based website, and I'm wanting to find more useful free info out there.

I haven't found a lot of quality sites that have free information.  Your best bet is to cowboy up and invest in some of the various books available.  If you hunt, you can find pretty good deals through the second hand book stores that use Amazon.  Your second best is to make use of the message boards here and on FetLife.

Good site on Knife Play, really respect his perspective and solid information on there for beginners:

Seems to me you aren't searching all that hard. Don't look at just the first couple or the "recommended" sites only, look at all the hits. Broaden your search terms, what you may be looking for may not inlcue your terms or grouping.

reading about being a Dom... how truly delightful...

Personally I think forums where actual people actually doing whatever it is that you want to do is your best bet. The theoretical websites are, in my opinion, mostly smoke & mirrors. I found separating the wheat from the chaff to be not worth the effort. But here on CM I could find folks who seemed to be doing things that were of interest to me then follow up with them privately and ask my questions. That worked really well for me.

I couldn't deal with the 1990's web design, gratuitous adds, and the reverse text. If there seemed to be something worthwhile, I would have cut and paste, but the purpose of the site appears to be to sell advertising.

You can get lots of books from the booklist from Amazon for $10 or less, including The Loving Dominant: http://www.amazon.com/Loving-Dominant-John-Warren/dp/1890159727/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1304290968&sr=8-5

I think it is boring to read about how another person dominates as opposed to adapting your own fresh/unique style.

Don't worry about being the next *insert widely-known author/dominant here* and worry about being the first you.

Even if the site the op linked was great, which I didn't think it was, it still represents only one person's thoughts. And what worked for that person may not necessarily work for the op or for me or for anyone else. But asking a broader group of people for ideas, you get a great many more of them and are  more likely to discover that one of them resonates with you also.
