This morning my roomie was supposed to be picked up at 7:30 AM by a friend of ours to go do some work. Well the friend never showed or called, just a no show. Now in most cases one would figure he just slept in, or got drunk, or plain forgot. With this guy, all of us had the same first thought: "Shit, I hope he's not in jail". LOL Anybody else have a friend like that?

Indeed I do. In my case though, I was right, that was exactly why he didn't call. Sigh.

i used to, but i weeded them out of my life for the most part. Once i finally chose to remain in contact and strengthen bonds with my family, i decided they were enough of that sort of nonsense and i just didn't have room on my plate for more. It's kind of boring in Upright-Citizen-ville sometimes, but i'm committed to it. The exception is a friend i've known from childhood. He's like the epicenter of societal collapse and chaos, like it's his superpower or something, yet somehow it's always hilarious. He's not allowed to operate heavy machinery or handle sharp objects by any of our friends when we're out in a group, and woe be to the person who hands him matches.

I have only one right-hand woman and mostly because she is both hot and lands me tickets to see rock bands in Toronto/Montreal.

Fortunately no, though I used to. I ended those friendships when I gave up the accompanying substances.

I have friends like that, but normally the conversation is something more like... "Oh my goodness, you showed up. We all figured you would be in jail by now"
