flcouple2009 -> Whats's on Your DVR ?? (5/4/2011 3:27:53 PM)

We have a few shows that we record but generally we delete them off the DVR after watching.  Yet when looking over things I find the DVR is 50% full so I started looking around.

Seems the kids have been busy recording things.  The daughter unit has 40 episodes of "Big Cat Diaries" stashed away.  They also have another 30 "Wild Kratts" recorded from PBS.  We also have the most recent 5 episodes of "Bug Wars" recorded that me and the kids watch together.

We need to do a little thinning out but basically the kids have the DVR full of Science, Nature, and History shows.

All we have is the last Dr Who we didn't get to watch Saturday.

What is hiding out on your DVR?

i approve of this. It gives me hope for the future.

i don't have a DVR, but it would probably have a bunch of Breaking Bad and Art 21 on it if i did.

BKSir -> RE: Whats's on Your DVR ?? (5/4/2011 5:20:42 PM)

Food Jammers, Iron Chef (original), No Reservations, Ghost Hunters (don't judge me... You're not even my real dad!) uh... The superbowl still. That's about it.

farglebargle -> RE: Whats's on Your DVR ?? (5/4/2011 5:25:37 PM)

Our DVR is a 4 tuner MythTV server. 2 SD + 2HD encoders PLUS a 1TB harddrive of videos.

So it's got Doctor Who 46-50 (2nd Doctor); Doctor Who 2005 S01, S02, S04, S05, S06, Josie and the Pussycats. Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space. Superfriends. The Venture Bros ( which is better than Archer, although Archer is still good ) Simpsons S04, James Burkes Connections; Carl Sagan's COSMOS, Iron Man; Iron Man 2; EVERYTHING feature length Disney and Pixar have animated. The ENTIRE Looney Toons Golden Collection. Fairy Tale Theatre. The Magic Garden, Magilla Gorilla, the ENTIRE DC Animated Universe; Everything John Carpenter ever did, The Cannonball Run; Zombie movies; about 100 GB of comic books and 300 GB of music...

lol BK

Ghost Hunters, Anthony, Fact or Faked,  plus a few other things get recorded around here as well.  If we watch them when it's on we usually just dump them after the show is over.  If we watch it on the DVR later we generally hit delete after they are done.

I just didn't know the "library" the kids were stashing.

i rarely watch tv at all. if i do want to watch i'll catch up in my own time online. other than that i have tons of films both on dvd or the hard drive.

if i do have the tv on it's usually just for noise. i'll look up every now and then and think 'oh yeah i was watching that'

I been grabbing movies on my neighbors DVR,  as she has the pay channels for now.

Lately little house has been good-  episodes she never seen and ones I like to see a 2nd time.

--I try to delete at 50% too.  Mainly since I dont want to take up her space.

I would record some lifetime movies-  but we seen them all.

Rarely will a watch a movie 2x.

Sometimes I get into the lock up series.

I DVR international ??   homes- you know they show 3 homes and then the couple pick one.  I am surrpised the sell places with furniture.  And on that show- I SELDOM see a house that I personally would want to buy.   (to include US)    Oh- Selling New York- is interesting.

There again- I would not want to buy any- but I like to look and learn- maybe get ideas for my own place.

I used to like the rehab shows- but they get old and the last one I watched they tiled over carpet and painted knotty pine and other wood- (including hard wood) I am like NO WAY!

TheHeretic -> RE: Whats's on Your DVR ?? (5/4/2011 9:33:20 PM)

Damn near every show we watch starts out on the DVR, and then gets deleted afterwards. What lives there for a while tend to be movies I haven't gotten around to. Apocolypto has been there at least a year.

LaTigresse -> RE: Whats's on Your DVR ?? (5/5/2011 8:11:58 AM)

Nada. No DVR at the hacienda on the hill.

flcouple2009 -> RE: Whats's on Your DVR ?? (5/5/2011 8:20:44 AM)

lol  Lucy that's the funny part when the kids record a cartoon they delete it after watching.

I did get the daughter to thin her Big Cat Diaries down to just the ones she hasn't watched yet.  That went from 40 shows to 4.

Aynne88 -> RE: Whats's on Your DVR ?? (5/5/2011 8:23:53 AM)

Anthony Bourdain, love him.

Scarface. Just because it's everywhere, DVD's, etc. One could lose one and be needing a Pacino fix!

Some episodes of Bill Maher that rocked.

Daily things I tape, like local and national nightly news.

Guilty pleasure junk tv....Real Housewives. I know I know..it's my crack.

Sons of Anarchy

Some episodes of Sunday Morning

Lucylastic -> RE: Whats's on Your DVR ?? (5/5/2011 8:27:49 AM)

One copy on my hard drive, one copy on a backup one written to DVD and one on hubbys back up
just to make sure!
