I am sure this topic has been covered before, but I find it baffling.
What would drive someone to email a stranger on collarme to ask clarification on an activity that they do, then send a very judgmental response to their reply?

Case in point, I am fond of heavy impact play.
This includes, but is not limited to, punching, hitting and kicking the fleshy areas of the body. I don't do it to everyone - that would be assault.
I only do it with consenting partners. I consider myself a safe player. People in the community consider me a safe player.
I would never do this, or any, activity with anyone who absolutely did not want to do it.

What, then, would move someone from another country, who is in no danger of ever being tied up in my playroom, to make comments like: "you should try it on yourself first so you know what it feels like!" after I've been polite enough to explain the activity to them?
I mean, seriously, if you ask someone as question and they answer, why not just leave it at that? Why toss in your two cents? If it's not for you, don't do it. It really IS that simple.

Thoughts? Comments?

Am I the only one who's starting to think polite responses are a waste of time and effort?
The above is just one example, I have dozens more, sadly.

Cuz they are online.

No.  Ones sense of manners should not be dependent on the behavior of anyone else.  Other people lacking in manners is never an excuse to forget one's own.

Generally, I would assume that the people emailing have had some kind of negative experience, or issues with the stuff you do in some other context in their life, and have a hard time separating their experiences from your reality.

In other words they are confusing their reality with your reality.

In other words ... they have "issues".

Pity them, and ignore them.

For the same reason people write letters to the editor complaining about religion, politics, the lottery etc,---personal preferences and the use of the written word to hide.

Its called: BITE ME IDIOT, block and move on.

Ain't that the truth.

Many of us get emails like that.  I received a handful just a few months back.  I believe they were stemmed from the reasons FirmhandKY posted.  Such wrath is typically born of pain.

DreamyLadySnow....i find You are not the only one to come across this....  i have been a member of this site for only a few weeks and almost daily i get people judgeing my relationship with my Mistress and my ethics/mentality to this lifestyle i have become.

luckily i see those people jealous because (i am assuming) that they do not have a secure and loveing relationship/friendship in there lives....i am not purposefully judgemental to anyone and respect those Dominants whom gain it...

whom are they to judge when there own house is not in order.

Its simply that most people are self-centered and want to be recognized as significant, as existing. They have learned that they achieve this when they express an opinion.

One way to deal with them is to say: "I thank you for your opinion. Be wel. Best wishes." It makes them happy and they probably wont bother you again with their opinions.
