Is there really no post for May? I searched a bit but didn't find it...

and what's up with you? We just got back from CLAW --- an amazing time in Cleveland... I just made our reservations for Thunder in July -- that trip will include a trip to CO RenFaire, visits to parts of CO, NM, and AZ and then a few days with family in AZ. Vacation will not get here soon enough...

We're busy but doing well -- I need someone to put a battery in my bike.. darling dear boi is way too busy...

any volunteers?

hows ya all?

Hey there!

All is good here in the Land of the Morning Calm. I've been writing up a blue streak - some of my work (academic and personal) is getting out into the public, and that has been a real joy to experience. The Yellow Dust is here from China, and smart people are staying indoors as much as possible this week.

I've decided to get involved a bit more here with a couple of groups - I'm tired of really not having many friends here. I'm looking at a couple of conferences to attend this summer so that I can combine work and vacation. Who knows - sunshine may be coming to a hotel near you! Work is good (although a bit boring). I have been asked to work on a couple of major projects which have the potential of getting me some work and kudos in the future. That's a little intimidating but wonderful.

I've been falling in love with my crock pot and have been making home made yogurt every couple of weeks. I've been healthy healthy healthy.

And I found furniture for my place. YAY! I think I'm pretty boring right now, but hey, that's better than drama llama nonsense!

Best,
sunshine

No. I am not here nor am I posting this very message.

Spring is here and Summer is soon to follow. After being cooped up in this house for a while and in a semi cab it appears to me that some people I know are not what they have said to be. Regardless I am hopeful that things will fall my way soon.

The blood. It tells me to boogie, move, wander...

These mountains are begging to be climbed and explored. Sincerely I wish to climb to the tops and peer down into the valleys of this land.

I'm starting to get to a point where my Bullshite Meter reaches its maximum for everything and I wish to step away from it all.

The prospect of an actual stable income is exciting too. It would be wonderful to get away from all of this housework business that trickles in (including the one I am living in).

Something substantial and constant. I've been in a rut financially for a while now but due diligence is paying off. Plus I think I have been annoying the right people. Yay.

I will admit that I am rather jealous. Mead and all.

Things seem to finally be moving for me....forward, no less!

The biggest and most important news is that I'm a student. I've decided to follow that old saying...."Do what you love and the money will follow."

There's lots of little mundane happenings but, to be honest, nothing quite compares with making this decision to creatively move towards a totally new and exciting life choice.

Life is good. ....Jig of Joy time!

Everything is happening and not happening all at once.

As a lot of folks know, we lost MP's mother last month.  That was bad enough to begin with but it also coincided with the timing for our move.  We're still in the middle of that now so I don't have anything to report on the new house or much about the new area.  So far, My impression goes to the extent of it's pretty, but cold.  It literally took us nine days to get here.  It's definitely going to be an adjustment.

I'm hoping to get to a munch by the end of the month.  I've already made some inquiries and there definitely is a lifestyle community in the city.  So far, the replies that I've gotten back to My questions have been very friendly, so I'm very optimistic.

Busy busy busy BUSY! That is how the last week has been. I had a large, corporate, photo shoot yesterday. I have to admit that I was pretty uncomfortable with it on the inside, but me being me.......just blasted into it with a 'What do you have to lose?!?!' mindset.

To make it even more nerve wracking, I found out the day before that the number of shots wanted was far far more than initially discussed. Many of which were in locations I had never seen. ( I had gone up and scouted the place in early April and prepared for the previously discussed shots.)

I began to have a temporary mini meltdown on Tuesday. We have zero, decent photography supply shops around here. Everything I buy I tend to order online. There was no way I could even have anything Next Day-ed because I was leaving the house before 7AM. Fortunately I am a student of minimalist lighting and excellent at thinking outside the box for solutions. A trip to the hardware store and some time out in the garage doing some odd rigging, and I knew it was as good as it was going to get.

Per my usual M.O. I slept like a baby Tuesday night and hit the road running, espresso machine loaded in with the photo gear, in my little M3. Generic Dude came along as my go-for and order barker ( I figured all those years barking orders as Sergeant should come in handy when herding a crew of 30+ reluctant victims.....er, subjects!) on a now, very tight schedule.

Over all, it went very well. In retrospect, my perfectionist self would like a few do-overs but the wonders of Photoshop will assure the client will have no clue.

Yay!!! My first big, corporate, paying client!

Now for the tedious part........Photoshopping them to all look maaaaaavelous, without turning them into Barbie and Ken.

Otherwise, my grands are not doing motocross this year. I am disappointed ( I love it!) but understand the time and even bigger, financial commitment involved. I don't blame my son or former daughter-in-law for steering them towards baseball instead. They love both, and the baseball has got to be less dangerous......even for those two terrors.

The yard and gardens are looking fabulous, my orchard is blooming and gorgeous. The morels are popping and delish! I just had a birthday and it was just wonderful.

I have been communicating with a lovely young lady. Unfortunately I've been so busy this week I have been slacking on ALL my communications.

Yet over all, life is pretty damned fantastic!

Morels! Damn I miss eating those!

Hello A/all,

May has opened with a new job but a lack of hours. I am rather tired of the rain here for that reason. I expect to be busy once the weather co-operates.

My birthday is this month and my Mistress has plans... Big Plans... Surprize Plans....

While I clearly have reasons to be anxious, things are looking up this month.

Respectfully,
Mike

I am done w/ school and now I'm looking for work. The school was but a refresher and I have plenty of experience, so I have high hopes....just like the ant that moved the rubber tree plant. I dropped off another app today.

Here I am, back from the dead! Well, the lack of internet kind of dead anyway. Mountains are beautiful but being on the far side of them yields crap wireless internet, especially when the only place that accepts pets and big vans is down in the depths of a valley by a lovely lake! Apparently if we'd had a 50' antenna we could have tapped into the signal but as we don't ... any snatches of internet time whilst eating breakfast at a cafe had to be used for supervisory discussions about papers and thesis chapters. So sorry, I missed all you good folks!!

LadyPact, so sorry to hear about MP's Mother, having been through losing Mine a couple of years ago, I know how difficult a time it is. It was hard enough being across the country and having to fly over and back a couple of times, but moving house as well ... ack!! My empathy and I do hope You are getting settled in wherever You are now.

Otherwise, not much news from here, we have taken a zillion photos, I have done a heap of writing in the meantime, and we are now somewhere which is as low as -5C at night, a far cry from 44C only 3 months and half a state ago! Who chose such a cold spot for our country's capital! Our dog is now wearing a T-shirt and I'm looking to see if we can find her woolly jumper somewhere, I'm sure I packed it. We didn't use it all the time we lived in Queensland! I have to unearth some warmer gear from under the bed storage too, though at least the weather here is fine and clear. The last spot the weather went through 4 seasons in the course of an hour at times, talk about changeable! But the scenery made up for it and I also caught up with an old muso friend unexpectedly, so it was all good.

Hope life is treating everyone else well, and congrats sunshine on your work success! Good luck pyro!

Maam Jay

It's happening. Tomorrow I sign the contract to buy the tax/accounting practice. There was a ginormous hitch in that the person who promised me a loan reneged at the last minutes but I was RESCUED by a dear friend. I am in the yellow pages online already. I am seriously happy. June 1--it's alllll on me.

On other fronts, I am so happy to have disengaged from the local scene! It's great not having to be a social hypocrite! I am looking forward to fully grown leaves so I can get back to tile making.

Yay. :)
