....................Can anyone provide a link to any person asking any other President in the last 40 years to provide their transcript from college after they where elected???????   I wonder why not??

The answer.... "excess" melanin.

At least this:

Simultaneous and identical actions of United States Steel and other leading steal corporations increasing steel prices by some $6 a ton constitute a wholly unjustifiable and irresponsible defiance of the public interest. ...............................Some time ago I asked each American to consider what he would do for his country and I asked the steel companies. In the last 24 hours we had their answer.

And windfall profits taxed at 100%.

Could you give the context for this, please?

mnottertail -> RE: Just what kind of student was Donald Trump? (5/5/2011 11:18:26 AM)

The USSteel fiasco, and that was the excoriation delivered by JFK.

I gleaned the steel part, but didn't know who was quoted. Thank You.

Why, oh why, don't we have such STATESMEN these days?? Someone who can see farther than their own wallet??

This is the best Trump can offer up... the man's grades? It is almost as mind numbing as the birth records argument. Trump is a wind bag and always has been. If he is the best the GOP can offer up then yup they are doomed this cycle.

LaTigresse -> RE: Just what kind of student was Donald Trump? (5/5/2011 11:25:20 AM)

I would like to see the Kindergarten reports on many of the posters in this section![:D]

mnottertail -> RE: Just what kind of student was Donald Trump? (5/5/2011 11:26:42 AM)

I tried to take Miss Lilly in the sandbox, Cindy Flatin was pissed.  It wasn't my best GPA year, in fact I never had one.

hlen5 -> RE: Just what kind of student was Donald Trump? (5/5/2011 11:27:17 AM)

I didn't go to Kindergarten [;)].

Mezrem -> RE: Just what kind of student was Donald Trump? (5/5/2011 11:28:00 AM)

Long or short form? LOL

And what of his high school and grade school transcripts?

Do they even have grade school transcripts? I do not think that I have ever seen one. Although I suppose that they would for children who move out of district and into a new one.
However his high school transcript would have is SAT scores on them. Statistically speaking they should be low.

How did he do in kindergarten?

I am not sure if he even went to kindergarten.

That is okay. It is a completely normal to desire more information on public figures.

Why should they be low?

And, as I said, I never took the sats. My high school records would reflect that absence?

Hillwilliam -> RE: Just what kind of student was Donald Trump? (5/5/2011 11:52:11 AM)

My HS transcript doesn't have My SAT's nor My ACT's even though I took both.

tazzygirl -> RE: Just what kind of student was Donald Trump? (5/5/2011 11:57:55 AM)

Transfering from one college to another didnt require the sat scores, as long as someone was a proven student at the first college. Some states only post a pass/fail for the bar exam. Requiring scores is just silly nonsense

Why should they be low?

Because he is black or half-black. The SATs and ACTs have a very racist and sexist history.

I cannot remember if black men or white women score better, but they both score lower than white men and higher that black women.

In the last decade or so they have been trying to fix this. Now you take the SAT II.

My high school transcripts show my scores for my ACTs and SATs (And possibly the PSATs) as well as my class ranking. I assumed it was universal. It may not be.

There is 15 years between me and you. Obama is older. We were both out of high school before you started grade school. Thats not a snark.. its just how it is. Alot of changes have occured in the college requirements, as well as testing in high school, between you and me. Taking in the fact that his life wasnt always spent being poor, if it ever was, he had a better chance than most in his racial group to score much better.

If I recall, one of the questions that brought about the changes in the SATs was about a cup and saucer... because most poor children didnt know what a saucer was.

Partly it reflected the economics of the family. But there were also issues with "cultural" questions and the examples given for questions. Off the top of my head I do not recall how many times they have re-done the SAT. It has been more than a few.

I recall a question on the PSATs that completely baffled me. It was an analogy and the first half was, "a gridiron is to football as. . ." I had NO idea what a gridiron was. I have never followed sports. This is an example of a male-oriented question.

And yes, I used the term "statistically speaking" because I know that there are always outliers. Just like his mother's age and education level at his birth is a statistic predictor of how well he would do on the SATs.

No, it's not completely normal.

Where were all these questions when Dubya got into Yale and Harvard with poor grades based on Daddy's and Granddaddy's legacies and their positions in government?

And who has been running our broken education system, if not the teachers unions.

School boards.

That's the problem with popular opinion rules.

Imagine a construction company running by popular opinion, staffed by elected officials who didn't know the construction business.

George W. Bush was not a public figure when he was a legacy admission. Why would anyone have asked questions then? There were no questions asked about Chelsea Clinton's college admissions either. She was not a public figure.

It is what happens to the information after the person becomes a public figure that is being discussed here.

mnottertail -> RE: Just what kind of student was Donald Trump? (5/5/2011 1:16:09 PM)

And Obama was not a public figure when he was a Harvard Law Professor or leading up to it.

Q.E.D.
