I am a sub (and a new one at that).  I love submitting/my submission to my Dom.  When I hear the questions of "slaves" it breaks my heart.  It would be great if you were saying all is well and this fulfills me - this is what I want.  But, that is not what I hear.  It seems to me (correct me if I am wrong) that "slavery" is not fulfilling you and leaving you (I guess) scared and troubled.  Are there "happy and fulfilled" slaves here?  If you are a slave and look inside and find unhappiness - why are you a slave?

VvShadowspawnvV -> RE: Finding Happiness (5/10/2006 6:46:11 PM)

Occasional fear and troubled-ness do not preclude my state of overall, "in general" happiness.

absolutely!!!  this one is, however, it isn't often that this slave opens a thread to gush about His wonderfulness.  He prefers that sort of worship to be done in person, naked, kneeling[;)]!!!

if this slave found herself to be unhappy and unfulfilled for some reason, she would discuss it with Master~not saying folks shouldn't come here to this board with their questions or problems, just that for this slave, she seeks Master's guidance and wisdom when she has questions or problems, about ANY issue, but especially on matters relating to her service to Him.

this slave isn't the only happy and fulfilled slave that posts here, there are some others that respond quite frequently in the "Ask A submissive/slave" forum.  this slave doesn't want to speak for others, but can think of at least five right off the top of her head that often report happiness and fulfillment in their service as slave!!  it is rather puzzling as to why you haven't seen any of their posts!!!???

Everything will not always be well. It doesn't matter what your orientation is, there will be difficult times and it is natural for people to reach out for help during those difficult times. An unexpected crisis or frightening new territory is going to be the time that a person looks to others to answer their questions, or to listen, or to reassure. When they're happy, there's no reason to do that. It doesn't mean they haven't been happy or won't be happy again, it simply means they aren't happy right at this very moment and they're looking for answers on how to get back to that state.

petcerina -> RE: Finding Happiness (5/10/2006 7:44:57 PM)

Yes!  i feel especially blessed to know what i am at such a young age.  To be able to trust my Master like i do is a wonderful and rare thing.  i know that this is what i am and what i want to be.

I am a very happy slave......quite happy and VERY FULFILLED in serving my Sir......I have never been scared or troubled in regards to serving my Sir.  Not sure where you are hearing that slaves are not happy or fulfilled, and there may be a few out there.....but I think the majority of us slaves are very very happy and fulfilled

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Finding Happiness (5/11/2006 6:06:26 AM)

First off is the "problem" that there's no clear universal definition of what consensual modern slavery IS.  So you can't really say whether "it" is fulfilling or not.

However, many people are fulfilled by the choices they make, many people are not.  What matters is if they are being true to themselves.

slavejali -> RE: Finding Happiness (5/11/2006 6:19:51 AM)

Well i just started a poll in random stupidity to finally work out the differences between sub and slave [;)]

anyways..on topic...

I'm a slave and completely utterly happy and my Master is the bestest Master in the entire universe...no complaints here [:)]

Why the hell didn't anyone think of that before?  FINALLY!

Seriously, I do think you're quite brilliant.

Merritt27 -> RE: Finding Happiness (5/11/2006 7:41:43 AM)

i am a very happy, well cared for slave.  i love Him and He loves me.....W/we have a great relationship and a bright future....but W/we are human and do have "off" days.   Everyone has on and off days....vanilla or not.

There are plenty of U/us on here that will make you sick if given the time to gush over O/our partners......just give it time.

juliaoceania -> RE: Finding Happiness (5/11/2006 7:52:05 AM)

I am a submissive also, and I do not consider myself a slave. I do not understand the need to be a slave either, and  that is why I am not one. I do understand that there are different ways of doing things and there are a lot of choices that would not make me happy that make others happy. I think we sometimes put ourselves into other people's shoes and think "Dang that doesn't fit!", but they do fit the person they belong to. Just my thoughts.

Thanks Slave Jali, I was bored when I posted - hoped something interesting may come from it.  The results from your poll should be amusing, at least. [;)]

Where are you hearing slaves are not happy and fulfilled? You may hear the occasional whine but for the most part the majority of the slaves i am familiar with are extremely happy.

I am a 24/7 rt live in collared slave and i'm so happy i am twicehappy, lol.

fullofgrace -> RE: Finding Happiness (5/12/2006 12:48:05 PM)

i say i am a submissive but being as though i don't really differentiate between submissive and slave in reference to myself and i tend to have qualities that others see as more slave than submissive, i have to say i find that being who i am - whatever you wish to call it, slave or submissive - is what fulfills me. i am blessed to be in a situation with a Dominant who i can trust and who loves me so much that i am free to be myself - to give myself completely to Him and be owned by Him. it is called slavery, but to me it is the freedom to be completely myself, without any pretenses. it's more fulfilling than any other relationship i have been in, and any other i can imagine. that's not to say we don't have our offdays, like everyone, and lord knows we've had our share between death and health problems and work problems, etc. but c'est la vie - it doesn't mean our relationship in and of itself isn't fulfilling.

I am a slave and I am happy and fulfilled in my relationship.  There may be tough times, but we work through them and strengthen our relationship.

I think that maybe you are either not reading the right threads or not paying attention.  I see many posts from slaves who are happy and fulfilled with their choices.  It may not be so blatantly stated, but the tone of the messages certainly convey that they are happy.  Of course I also tend to avoid the threads that just appear to be a whine or a rant.  That may be why I perceive that more are content with their choices than not.

xxblushesxx -> RE: Finding Happiness (5/12/2006 8:36:11 PM)

My Master treats me with love, respect, and kindness.  We are Master and slave, friends and lovers, teacher and student (sometimes hard to tell who is teacher and who is student...) Daddy and child.

We can tell each other anything, and feel safe and secure.

I told anyone who would listen for the longest time that I was NOT a slave....

erm...

well...

Out of my submission, comes strength.  It's who I am.  It's actually what I've always been.  And yes, I still fight it...A LOT.  That's just the way I am.  But, I know I am happiest, when I am at His feet.

Good luck in your journey.  Be careful, be wise, and, you may just be as lucky as some of us have been.

ayasha -> RE: Finding Happiness (5/13/2006 5:23:02 AM)

one is a slave, and has been for 2 years.  The more one learns, the more at peace one is.  one is happier and more content than ever before (one is 47).  Is it a perfect life?  No.  Is it a good life?  Well, one can't imagine ever going back to the life one had before (vanilla).

one has learned more about one's self in 2 years than in the 45 years that came before finding the lifestyle.  one thought one would be happy being a submissive - but one was born to be a slave.  Is slavery for everyone?  Absolutely not.  But for those of us that have found our true happiness in slavery, it is everything.  one is happier and more content than one has ever been in one's life, so it is the right thing for this one.
