Status: offline 		Well after seeing some of the sponsers in tonight's debate.  I can understand why so many people choose not to partake in it.  It should be a night filled with paranoid delusions and anti government fears.

The Exodus Group is one of the sponsors, as is the group the Oath Keepers and the John Birch Society.  Don't know who they are.....

The Exodus Group :the Exodus Mandate Project explains its mission is to “encourage and assist Christian families to leave government schools for the Promised Land of Christian schools or home schooling.” A flyer at the debate portrays a “public school victim.”

The Oath Keepers:  The Oath Keepers’ website is riddled with paranoid rhetoric about government officials “disarm[ing] the American people,” “confiscat[ing] the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies,” and “blockad[ing] American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.”

And last but not least The John Birch Society:  The John Birch society, famous for its vocal opposition to the Civil Rights movement, represents “the far-right fringe of American politics.” The Southern Poverty Law Center has listed the John Birch Society as a group that “advocates or adheres to extreme antigovernment doctrines.” The group was so radical — calling President Eisenhower a communist infiltrator and claiming that the Soviets used fluoridated water to control Americans’ mind — that they were effectively exiled by conservatives until 2010. They even recently called Nelson Mandela “a communist terrorist thug.”


Gee sounds like just the kind of people to spread equal rights, Freedom and liberty across our land.

Status: offline 		This debate is a debutante ball for unknowns, nothing more. If any of them survive it will be Pawlenty and Santorum. Ron Paul is there to inject some humor.

Status: offline 		Nevertheless, they are running for the GOP ticket, and seem to be OK with these groups holding a rally and trying to raise financial support there. 

They could have backed out...but they did not.

Status: offline 		From various places it seems the big names will not be there: Donald Trump, Sarah Palin, Rep Michelle Bachmann (not sure on here exactly), Mitt Romney. So, this 'debate' is the just the second string losers that don't have any chance of winning the GOP ticket, let alone, becoming President. After all, Mr. Obama just proved to the nation and the world that he can do in half the time, what the GOP couldn't. Likewise, with GOP 'debates' its often better understood as 'multiple press conferences'. In a debate, those up on the stand, would DEBATE, as in, argue in a game of 'one-up-manship' on a given subject. I suspect this 'debate' will just be 'question, answer and counter-answer'. We won't see any of these fools say something worthy or wise for us Americans. They'll play up to the crowd, to which the OP, has stated the sort of folks that will be in the audience.

Still, it'll give munch needed ammo for all the comedians for a few months....

They`ve been sponsoring GOP events in Washington DC and around the country for the last several years.

The GOPs big tent policy recently includes nutters who don`t want a big tent policy,like the birchers and the KKK`s front group the Council of Conservative Citizens.

There was a time(recently, in fact) when the GOP leaderdship shunned the birchers and other extremists.

Having only had an interest in the Canadian and British elections for the first forty years of my life, they certainly didnt prepare me for the never ending show found from the US. My feelings about it have changed somewhat, mostly because I know a lot more amazing  Americans now than I did back then luckily

But the past four years have been more than eye opening
