Well, for those who dont't know, for Harry Chpin's Taxi, there is a sequel (by him BTW).
Here goes, and you're the first to have it.
This is a good camshaft. I think it is the best camshaft in the world, but I am not a camshaft expert. A camshaft expert would be someone like Isky, or more likely his Dad. But unlike the free cello offered on craigslist this camshaft is not broken. You have no idea how hard I tried.
All levity aside, this is no joke. This seems to be a Chevy cam, the fuel pump eccentric is on the opposite end of the oil pump drive. It came from a Chevy guy, and as much as I got pissed at him I know he is or was a Chevy guy. I put it that way because someone may have killed him. You had to be there, his name was Bob.
Now the not funny part. Specifications. Five main bearing journals. Behind those for cylinder No. 8 is red paint. The three hole pattern on the back, oriented so both lobes for No. 8 are down are as follows. Up and slightly to the right of the center hole is a dab of yellow paint. Above the right hole and slightly to the left is a dab of white paint. At a 45 degree angle from center, there is red paint all the way to the outside edge. Not all the way from the center, but close to the hole, ½" , less actually. It’s obvious this cam has never been used. (in an engine)
Now I’m not necessarily looking to sell this. A trade would work. However, I will only trade for certain things. First of all it must be made of metal. I like metal things, even metal music. Well not enough to trade off my camshaft. You better have sometyhing good. No broken cellos please. Now if you happen to have an unbroken cello maybe we can talk.
So basically the way I see it is that it is stupid to trade one cool thing for a bunch of shitty little things. So I don’t want your ipads or cellphones. I am an old fuddie duddie who has no use for your newfangled chinkshit. But I don’t have a problem with lead paint.
I want something of value for my camshaft, so forget money. Anything useful out there ?
