jlf showed the outright lie perpetrated by your first paragraph, and I will speak to the ignorance of this.

Yeah, the government is sitting on a pile of money that they have taken out of the economy, it is just sitting there, big as you please, doing nothing, not even drawing interest, or sitting around in case someone wants a social security check, waiting for that moment when they can put it in the economy of Iraq.  We read about that every day.

(That is a reductio ad absurdum)

Unemployment averaged 5% under Bush, and theres a lot more that goes into the economy than just tax cuts jlf. For one thing Bush spent like a big leftist. The terrorist attacks on the World TRADE Center didnt help, noor did Barney Franks housing / banking collapse

Well, then, since the Bush Tax Cuts went into affect, WHERE THE FUCK ARE THE JOBS? There hasn't been any. Even a conservative has to admit that, if he is honest.

See, Conservatives know that businesses create wealth and that government saps wealth. That means the best jobs bill is tax relief and smaller government... less red tape and unwarranted regulation handicapping business.

No, we prefer policies that actually help the situation vs. the feel good policies of leftists which actually do far more harm than good.

Wilbur and the other right wingnuts on this board like the idea of the people who are unemployed through no fault of their own, or underemployed, old, poor etc going hungry and homeless.

Name one jobs or financial help Bill that the repubs have even TRIED to pass since "taking over", that make things better for the under employed, the unemployed, the poor and the sick?
Oh ya thats right, there hasnt been one

Businesses do not create wealth, they seek to profit from an exchange of wealth. That wealth comes from that earned by the customer receiving cash in exchange for their labor, then paying a value added or enhanced value due to seller's labor.

As I said...Bush had the worst 2 term total job creation on record. Clinton the lefty liberal, raised taxes got pay-as-you-go in congress and in his 2 terms created 22 million jobs and a surplus.

Bush the fascist righty, cut $2-$3 trillion in personal and business taxes increased govt. spending and created 7 million jobs while adding $7 trillion in govt. debt.

Sanity -> RE: The American Dream! 43 million on food stamps! 30 Million Unemployed (5/9/2011 7:36:43 AM)

Leftists alternatively like to argue that its congress, not presidents who control the budget and the economy and then they flip arguments when its convenient for them to do so

Unemployment ROSE consistently during the Bush Presidency, it has declined consistently during the Obama Presidency.

The Bush economic programs allowed the economy to tank, it has begun to recover under the present administration.

The Republican "trickle down" economic policies did not work under Reagen, Bush sr. and Bush jr.

His first six years was a republican house, so how is that out of line with fact?

Sanity -> RE: The American Dream! 43 million on food stamps! 30 Million Unemployed (5/9/2011 8:12:30 AM)

Obama had a fillibuster proof majority, therefore his partys extending the Bush tax cuts was a tacit admission on the part of Democrats that lower taxes (letting people and businesses keep their own money) is better for the economy than if the government robs the people of their money to give to bureaucrats to give back to people and businesses.

No, check your facts - unemployment just shot up to 9%

There is no filibuster proof majority, the house does not filibuster.

No, it was tacit admission that handing checks to people is something that is politically enamoured, regardless of what it does to the economy.

It is sort of like you have a tacit admission that wisconsin republicans are lawless goons and thugs, because you didn't go out and shoot the people that were circulating the recall petitions.

Sanity -> RE: The American Dream! 43 million on food stamps! 30 Million Unemployed (5/9/2011 8:19:31 AM)

They also had a solid majority in the House but dont let the facts get in the way of your irrelevant trivial off topic spin

Exactly what I said, and your off topic spin is designed to let you off the hook by derail.

I REPEAT:

There is no filibuster in the house.

Regarding the other bit of worthless spin of tacit admission.........bullshit, everyone knows why they did it, because it was a popular idiots orgasm, wrecking the country is of little concern to politicians.

Shot up to 9% from 8.9%? Do you really want to go with that terminology?

Do you care that unemployment went from 4.2% to 8.2% under Bush (using the official numbers)?

In comparison, the same numbers went from 8.2% Feb, 2009 to a current rate of 9.0. with a peak of 10.1.

Unemployment has grown under the currect administration, but no where has it "shot up" like under the previous one. Just to show Im not being unreasonable, I looked back till 1970. Rates have not been this high since under Reagan in 82-83.

well it sorta does both.

they take out a loan, bonds, which means interest, and if one presumes that the people getting the jobs are unemployed and those people spend it right back into the economy its a 2 way street but you still have that interest hanging over your head and of course fed res interest can never be paid back so its cumulative causing the exponential rise in inflation we have now.

"even though its only 3% per year on the 20ma"  lol

I'm sure you are wrong about that.

The sainted Uncle Ronnie would never have allowed that to happen.

Excuse me, Sanity, but you are revising history again, at the time the Bush Tax cuts were extended, the senate was 41 republicans 58 democrats, and 1 libertarian. For a filibuster proof majority, YOU NEED 60 VOTES IN THE MAJORITY.
