I'm new to the site, mostly here to learn. I've been curious about this type of lifestyle for a little while, but I can't say I've had many opportunities to learn about it. I'm not even sure where I might fit into it. Where did everybody learn the most about this sort of thing?

Welcome to CM.

It's a slow process but if you keep your eyes and ears open, you can learn plenty, however, keep in mind there is no 'true' sub or Dom, (IMO, others will disagree I'm sure).

Filling out your profile a little more might be a good place to start.

Ok, I went through the various interests for bdsm (3 pages! Wow.) I think I have a better idea of what i'd like to get into.

Yes there is a lot there, however,as you saw, it's not all BDSM related. I might also suggest that you write more about yourself...tell us more about you, what makes you who you are? Some will skip your profile because you have written so little, and you may miss out on a lot of people that will have useful information for you.

Have you looked around on the boards yet? Loads of intersting tidbits there...

Welcome to the forums.

I've got to give it to you.  That's probably the most honest intro thread title that I've ever seen around here.  Serious kudos to you on that.

Where did I learn most?  Munches, events, books, fellow kinksters, and hands on experience.  There's a bunch and you never really stop learning.  There's always something new out there.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I might even check out a munch around my area. I'm really starting to get a good feel for what I want from this site. If only there was a bigger group of people around my area that participated i'd be having a great time.

Actually, I believe OKC has a decent kink group.

I suggest going to Fetlife.com, and you can look for groups near you.

Wow, thanks. I've been poking around Google a bit for more sites like CM and Fetlife, but I haven't found much. This is a great help, much appreciated.
But any kink is a decent kink as long as you have somebody to share it with. ;)
