FANTASTIC answer!

I don't have kids. But I won't wimp out, because I have thought about it (more than once)

The answer must ALWAYS be what is better for the progeny.

They can laugh once at something they may never laugh at again,

but a new skill may lead to them being able to GENERATE the laughter whenever they need it, or someone else they would want to share laughter with.

To be fair to the progeny,

the latter choice.

Would you rather save the world from Nuclear Disaster,

or would you rather be able to magically CREATE a guaranteed Afterlife for everyone to enjoy, since this planet (physically) is so buggered up anyway, and now has a shelf life?

(Shit, you're bringing out the 'deep' in me, Toys!)

1- sorry for the deep....shit.

2-
End nuclear disaster possibility.
Too many innocents in pain there.

Ok...
This is deep, so bear with the intro:
Would you rather
Vex someone with the most prolific question known to the thinking mind which has been with us for more than one hundred years.
If you think back to the 1850's you'll remember that Nikola Tesla who said that Nature may reach the same result in many ways. Like a wave in the physical world, in the infinite ocean of the medium which pervades all, so in the world of organisms, in life, an impulse started proceeds onward, at times, may be, with the speed of light, at times, again, so slowly that for ages and ages it seems to stay, passing through processes of a complexity inconceivable to men, but in all its forms, in all its stages, its energy ever and ever integrally present. A single ray of light from a distant star falling upon the eye of a tyrant in bygone times may have altered the course of his life, may have changed the destiny of nations, may have transformed the surface of the globe, so intricate, so inconceivably complex are the processes in Nature. In no way can we get such an overwhelming idea of the grandeur of Nature than when we consider, that in accordance with the law of the conservation of energy, throughout the Infinite, the forces are in a perfect balance, and hence the energy of a single thought may determine the motion of a universe. .

Oh, nevermind

Paper or plastic?

I'm not going to cop out on that one out of respect to you. I might be related to Tesla. I am certainly related to people who were married to members of Tesla's family. I cannot answer that question in an objective way and would always have to accept the science, as well as the metaphysics*, which would demand that I accept any answer I give would be born of an appreciation of Tesla. The reply would be partially emotionalist, thus no better than the to-and-fro on the atheist/believer threads.

tesla, however, suffered tyrants and suffered the equivalent of "Cossacks" working for the man who wanted to steal Tesla's Lightning (rather than steal his thunder, ha ha).

I may be answering this question by accident...

But pure science can all agree on one thing: matter is energy, something/anything can be transmogrified but cannot be made to "not exist", and likewise, something cannot be created from a (true) nothing.

As elders beloved by both Deepak Chpra said, and the Irish from 3000 years ago who never met them said also,

"Yes it is winter, and to your eyes the branch on that Peach Tree is barren, but spring always comes, is always followed by summer, peaches are summer fruit, thus the fruit i always on the tree."

a very scientific viewpoint. and... philosphically ELECTRIC. Therefore worthy of Tesla.

but, paper.

I can make paper. I can remake paper. I can remake remade paper that won't kill turtles. It may not be white enough, but it works. Plastic is the "pet rock" of carbon foot-prints and excuse making. Paper can always be made stronger and done so cheaply; it merely requires work ethic of the individual and a lack of lust for maximum profit from the group/corporation.

suede fuck me boots or patent leather?

* as Tesla reportedly did. And BOWIE played him! BOWIE!

I grow hair like a MOTHERFUCKER. and too many people are losing it. from chemo and rado. young and old.

more help, more kindness, to grow and cut and give the hair. clean it properly, make sure it'll make the BEST wig for those wrongfully stricken and forced into hospital.

inventing a new form of publication to make 10000 struggling (good) authors get paid a minimum wage for spending 2 years of their life on a 500+ page novel, or eliminate the censorship/punishments suffered by 10000000 authors in the 2nd and 3rd world?

There are days which I wish I had conducted myself better. Correcting most would make such a trip worthwhile without changing history.
Not being able to change anything would limit the value of the trip. I suppose the best choice would be one the few times my dad returned from extended duty abroad.

Spring, it kisses goodbye to nasty ol' winter

which would irritate or upset you more (and you don;t get to say 'neither', Dom or anyone else; one of these will be more annoying than the other):

Finding out that the human species are merely the result of an extraterrestrial mistake (comet collision, garbage left by 'visitors' that accidentally evolved, etc.)

or that angels actually ARE real, and they loathe pretty much everybody for getting almost all of religion (or hatred of it) wrong

I'd say the former. I like to think of humans as magnificent beings, though some don't live up to it.

IF you grip the rattle snake properly, you can survive that. It does have a skeleton.
As I understand it, the octopus is harder to hold on to.
I risk the snake.

if I get into trouble and need someone else to drive the car, the odds are they'll be right handed, so the latter.

an hour at the best natural History Museum or an hour at the best Astronomical Observatory?

There is no better natural history location than the Bad Lands, so I'll take the Astronomical Observatory as I get to them less often.

damn, that's hard.

If it's standard mustard, then Ketchup. If it's English HOT mustard, then mustard.

An authentic Scottish Highlands Dirk or a genuine 1911 Japanese-Russo War combat knife?
