jlf1961 -> HLN's Jane Valez-Mitchel wants police to be proactive. (5/10/2011 4:34:53 PM)

I was channel surfing the news networks when I heard this anchor say this over the air.

I am paraphrasing but the gist of it was, "why can't police get the criminal before they molest children or murder someone?"

The segment was about a sting operation in Florida that nabbed 22 men, some of whom had traveled from as far away as MO to have sex with under age girls.

I can see sting operations like this being proactive to get pedophiles, if men are chatting with police officers pretending to be underage girls, and set up meetings, you really cant call it entrapment, since the perps were not forced to act illegally.

However, someone want to explain just HOW IN HELL CAN YOU ARREST A MURDERER BEFORE THEY COMMIT THE MURDER?

Sounds like she has been watching the movie "Minority Report" one too many times.

Was she good-looking? That might answer your question. You don't have to be bright to be an anchor. No thought really. Just look good, smile and read the prompter. You do have to be able to speak well though. But you can be as dumb as a pile of tires. Man or woman. That's the job.

When does the public actually get to hear your actual feeling and thoughts. Rarely if ever. You could be a dumb ass anchor for 20 years and we would never know.

She fills in for Nancy Grace and tries to be just as loud and obnoxious.
