I have done exercises like these in my first D/s relationship....
To be honest, I found it tedious to write about sex every day, it didn't make me horny. He sensed this was the case, and instead of having me write about sex he switched it up to book reports and news article reviews, etc. It turned out he sensed I had a thing about impressing men with writing about such drivel.
My last dom picked up on this too, so he would have me write movie reviews about movies he would assign me to watch. It was much more stimulating to me than writing about BDSM play. I suppose I am weird, but unless my intellect is stimulated, the rest of me stays pretty lukewarm... and both of the dominants I have been involved with had a lot of fun playing with me in such ways.
I think writing is a great tool for submissives inclined this way, but it could also be something that was onerous for someone who was not inclined toward writing
