Well of course it is! And only because you said so!

"GM said the investments over the next few years will create or preserve more than 4,000 jobs as it retools the plants in eight states. The company has 202,000 employees globally, including 77,000 in the United States"

There are 300 million people here, about a third of them unemployed.
It's a PR move. So Japan is FUBAR right now. There's always Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan, China, how many more should I list ?

They are going to scream on TV " FOUR THOUSAND NEW JOBS ! " and the sheeple will be proud to buy a GM product and they'll get those flags to put on their new cars.

And 202,000 is alot more than 77,000. So it'll be 81,000 now. But since they stopped teaching math, it will look so good.

Speaking of math skills, the latest estimated US population is a little over 311 million and you claim 1/3 are unemployed.

That's an unemployment rate of over 33%.

Is that really what you are trying to tell us here?

How is that it you figure this statement is wrong?
The Republicans DO as the Democrats DO: what is best for their party, and they do it often.
The Rebublicans will tell you, and often do , that government is the problem.
If they wanted to bail out GM and didn't believe it would fail or wasn't sound policy, they might have voted for it?
When did they start rooting for Obama to do what Obama thought was right? as opposed to suited their way of thinking?
Not so sure of their exact motives but, the indications are whatever they were, they were incorrect, in turn the statement is basically correct and you are not.

"That's an unemployment rate of over 33%."

No it isn't, despite the fact that only 2/3 of the people have jobs.

Ya hafta understand the new math. Like inflation has nothing to do with the prices of things you need, ipads have to be figured in. Let them eat ipads !

No, Im not. Simple counter-example. The Ryan budget deals with Medicare in a manner that is sure to give the Democrats effective sound bites for 2012, despite the fact that its a decade before Medicare actually becomes a problem. If the primary motivation was to help the GOP there isnt a chance in hell that Medicare would have been part of the budget.

Try responding to what I said instead of meaningless sarcasm. HOW IS THE TREATMENT OF MEDICARE IN THE BUDGET DESIGNED TO BE IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE GOP AND NOT THE COUNTRY?

You may start a new branch of political science if you come up with an explanation.

SilverMark -> RE: GM to invest $2 billion in 17 U.S. plants (5/12/2011 12:42:11 PM)

All Brain said was that the Republicans were doing what served them best and you cite one example of them not doing so and that has changed the political landscape?

By the time the budget process is done, Ryan's Medicare plan will be watered down on both sides, it will be expedient and serve both PARTIES interests.

sigggh. I see this board has even infected you. Brain made an all inclusive statement, that statement is untrue on its face and I have shown why. The political landscape HAS changed, in case you missed the last election.

The ultimate end of the budget debate is irrelevant to the fact that Ryan and his committee proposed something that has been tantamount to political suicide and it WILL be used against the GOP.
