Which was clarified here...

What blood money are you talking about? What exactly are you accusing me of?

Why sunshine, do you hold stock in HMO's and the like? Maybe insurance companies? If not, then you would not be benefiting, would you. If you do, then the blood money is in your hands.

How does the insurance companies put it? "We aren't denying you care, we are denying payment for it."

and you are still whining about it. [8|]

Time to build a bridge, ya know?

Not wishing to start an unrelated fight in a thread already full of squabbling, but...

Precisely which rights have Americans defended (or demanded from their government) at gunpoint since they revolted against George III? The only instance I can think of is the Panthers insisting that they were entitled to go about tooled up in the early '70s, and apparently that doesn't count as they were all locked up.

I was merely trying to ascertain how much fell under the word "fight."

A fight for one's rights doesn't mean only one's own government... but to answer your question, there were some armed slave insurrections.

The slaves were not citizens, though: they had no rights at all.

I don't mind the usual jibs and jabs but accusations of "blood money" is a little over the top... it is a character insult. I tried to explain to you what I mean when I say "market," yet you still insist that I embrace (and by implication condone) people being allowed to die for the sake of profits. Fuck that. I don't. I tried to explain that I am not opposed to the idea of government health benefits but to the disingenuousness, hypocrisy and wishful thinking that I am expected to embrace by parroting the proper phrases.

I'm through.

Doing my best John Wayne impersonation... "you're splittin' them hairs mighty fine there, pardner."

Maybe there were not legaly recognized as citizens but there were Americans as far as I'm concerned. You asked about people fighting for their rights so... yeah... you have to be missing some rights - or have none at all - before you can fight for them.
