I have found most specialist shops,esp BDSM ones to be badly over priced. Do you want everything to look nice or do you prefer function over form? All the ropes,chains,padlocks and many other things I have bought over the years have come from my local DIY store. OK they only have white or black but they are still ropes. I would love to have some kisk ass furniture but it costs a fortune, so I have put eye bolts into the walls and ceilings. I even made a horse once,it looked like shit but it did the job. Sure if I move house I will have to get the filler out and do a little touching up with some paint but it has saved hundreds if not thousands.
Electrical goods,tricky obviously but for a lot of things a bit of imagination and cunning can save a lot of money.
See youtube for basic DIY tips if that's not your thing.

ps. that was not a dig at the above post or kinkyboystoys just some advice
