I was thinking back to this particular predicament bondage scenario, but cannot recall if there is a name for it.

The scenario:

Your sub/slave's hands are bound in front of her. Her feet are also bound together. Put a trainer or hood on her head. Have her kneel. Tie her bound hands overhead so that if she tries to sit down, her hips remain just above her feet/legs.

She can raise herself up on her knees to "relax", but now comes the "predicament". Using a rope, tie her trainer or hood to her feet so that when she does raise herself up onto her knees, her head is pulled down forcing to arch her back.

Sit back and watch her struggle, switching between hanging by her arms and arching her back, unable to find a comfortable position, waiting for when she is ready to promise you anything to be released from her predicament.

Alternately, and definitely more edgy, use a collar on her neck tied to her feet instead of the trainer or hood.

If anyone recognizes this and knows it's name, I would love to know it. Thanks.

I don't know the particular name (if any) but I'm also not seeing the predicament.

Seems if she just maintains the kneeling position, there's no struggle. Moving to an upright kneel doesn't relax the knee strain. I'm thinking she needs something pointy under her butt so she can't sit right down....

Anyway, I'll see what others think.

Ok, I've had a re-read - didn't really compute first time that her arms are keeping her up....

This works without cramps or pins and needles prematurely ending the scene?

"Partial suspension"

If you remove the ropes and add a cage it's called "Small cage torture." It's a bit dangerous if it goes on for too long: like having a .45 pointed at you is "a bit" dangerous.

It was used often on American Prisoners of War during the Vietnam conflict (or war.) The Japanese used it during WWII on both Chinese and American prisoners. Rumors exist that it's still used on political prisoners in China.

This is the closest I can come to actually naming it. If you use it for more than just playtime, remember that the recipient of your play will probably be next to you when you are asleep and vulnerable.

If you do use it for playtime it can be a little more than fun. The same way that pointing a .45 down the range at a piece of paper is fun. Kaboom!

Just off the top I think bondage falls into roughly two categories, total immobilization and partial immobilization, or "mobility restriction" of which there are many varieties, including the one you mention, similar to the "Tiger Cage", which MalcomNathaniel mentions.

Possibly originally designed to prevent the so imprisoned from generating enough leverage to bust out of the cage, but used as a form of torture: the cage is too small to either fully lie down or stand fully erect making then very uncomfortable and when they let you out, you're too cramped up to make any sudden moves (experience courtesy of the Air Force brig one time after I made some guards nervous, touchy bastards

).

There might be a name for this in another language, I don't know much about Shibari, but they probably have a name for everything.

Of course, with any predicament bondage scenario, the proper care needs to be taken along with consideration for the sub/slave's ability to handle the predicament. A good Master will be monitoring his sub/slave for any indications of real problems and not just experiencing the intended "suffering".

The phrase that comes to my mind is very, very short. As her arms will go numb in no time. At which point she must be released or she will be risking long term damage.

Personally I'm squicked by the fact that she isn't going to be released unless she promises to do something that she has refused to do. Forcing someone to break a hard limit isn't hot to me. I might if necessary promise it, but I'd get up and walk out the moment I was free and make it clear that he's a creep and off my list of people worth spending time with.

Doesn't this come down to the trust between dominant/master and sub/slave both to what the sub/slave promises for release and what the dominant/master makes her endure?
