I don't interchange the words punishment and pain.
If you want to know the toy that clip hates the most, it's the ugly stick. (Some folks on the boards have met that particular toy.) I don't necessarily use it to punish him. Instead, it's more the toy that I pull out when I just want him to submit to pain that he doesn't like. It's a different rush for Me when I know he's taking that kind of pain purely because I want him to do so.
I don't use corporal for punishment. There may be some physical aspects to it, such as him having to remain in a kneeling position for longer than is comfortable while I am determining the best way to handle the transgression. If an area has gotten past all other forms of corrective action, I punish based on the offense with a method that is related to it specifically. Without there being a link to what the problem is, it's not effective.
As to what actually hurt the most, if asking about an isolated incident, I'd have to say it was either his brand or his cutting. If about a scene in it's entirety, I'd have to go with the night we captured the resulting bruises, welts, etc and labeled the photo album "another quality job by LP".
