But between them manage to take home 178.7 MILLION dollars in one year

Corporate profits grew 38.8 percent in 2010, the biggest increase since 1950. But while CEOs earned an average of 20 percent more last year, many Americans continued to lose their jobs and benefits. The insecurity of the middle class has a lot to do with how executives are paid. Bonuses pegged to stock prices encourage CEOs to mercilessly outsource and downsize, slashing costs to boost profits. The result is that more corporate leaders are getting paid at the expense of average workers.

Your gripe is that theyre making money for themselves and their investors?

Dont you invest?

Its the unions and government regulations and red tape (environmental and otherwise) and taxes that make it unprofitable to keep plants open here, they have to go where their businesses can stay afloat.

They do have to compete globally Luce, so they stay here and go under or they can relocate and turn a profit

Its business. What do you propose as a solution, tax them more to punish them

Will "The beatings will continue until morale is improved" ?

You notice they are cutting health benefits as well. So the employee will have to use more of his disposable income to purchase healthcare or be in violation of federal law (something that the company will then have grounds to fire the employee with if they want)

Don't you know we all can invest through our 401K I mean no one has ever lost money there due to laws being broken or insider trading.

It's just shows how the top 1% control everything. Their profits are up because they have moved offshore to low wage countries. Yea!! they made more money.

However they sure do spend a ton of money in DC making sure that those low wage countries don't have to meet US standards for safety or child labor laws when it comes to their imports

The recent Apple plant is a good example, forced to put in 100 hours OT a month, 12-18 hours days, forced to live in common housing...No a UNION would serve no purpose there. The hell with peoples saftey, health and well being. All this country cares about is PROFITS

But it does seem strange with PROFITS at the highest levels ever...the USA is struggling to stay afloat. Of course with no middle class left they have no one to increase the taxes on to pay off the debt.

Its "trickling down" in the dividends and profits paid to their shareholders and to the people that still have jobs, that wouldnt if their CEOs didnt do theirs. WAY over your head.
