I was perfectly happy on my own when I met The Man. I was looking for a fwb, not a relationship. He was doing the same. But while we were looking, we were still happy and fulfilled people. If either one of us had been desperate, the other would have sensed it and said no thanks.

There's a difference between wanting something and needing it. An important difference.
