>"United 93" simply includes this in the flow of events, without comment. Many people seeing the film will remember the scene in "Fahrenheit 9/11" in which President George W. Bush sat immobile in a children's classroom in Florida for seven minutes after being informed of the attack on the WTC. What was he waiting for? Was he ever informed of the military request? The movie does not know, because the people on the screen do not have the opportunity of hindsigh<

Must say I had this same exact thought. I turned to my wife during the movie and said, GWB was reading MY PET GOAT when this happened.

But he was having trouble with the words so he just looked at the pictures. [8|]

I had decided to stay away from any movies that depicted the events of 9-11 because I thought they may drum up some sort of fear and terror. I still think about the days of the "terror alerts" and how much crap those were... like anyone paid any attention to them...

I am glad they do not play to that sort of mind set if I understand what you got out of it. But I still have trouble wrapping my mind around what happened and do not like to think about it....

This goat of GWB intrigued me. Since I am not a native speaker, I googled the [Bush's] goat and this was my first hit:

"To "go at" something would mean either to give it a try (more British sounding to me), or to attack it."

Go figure...

He was really reading MY PET GOAT?
He wasn't reading MY PET HORSE/DOG/CAT/HOUSE/BICYCLE/WHATEVER?

Go figure...

Hey, I still have a case of duct tape and enough plastic to cover a football field in storage. I feel secure, lol. [:)]
