Depends on what you're lying about and why. Christmas presents come to mind here or do you really want to know? However for The Man, smoking is a deal breaker. I quit in my early 20's but if I ever picked it back up (and yes 30 years later I still have the occasional craving) that would be a deal breaker for him. He loathes it with a passion.

I cannot forget it even though I was like between 5 and 7 years old when he was on the radio constantly. [sm=ofcourse.gif] No, it was not a trick question. I cannot believe the name of the song REALLY WAS Bermuda Triangle. You found the right one. (The one about fathers, dogs and beaches ended up being called Ships, so go figure.) Half a dozen years ago I spent months looking at eBay auctions trying to snap up every Manilow album I could find, as I had lost my entire old collection and I wanted to replace them. I have at least a dozen records now, but not one has that song on it, lol. I even bought several CDs that showed up over the years at Sams and that song isn't on it. I know I am missing an album, but dangit I tried. I also kept looking at the mall and at Walmart for the past 7 plus years, and flea markets and garage sales and second hand stores, lol. Probably I looked up Barry Manilow on Google years back to try to find a list of albums he made but got lost after the first dozen of millions of possible places to look. Yes, I know it's just me, but looking at Google for something makes me think of trying to find one specific apple core at the town dump. (Is having flashbacks of the planet sized dump from the movie Wall-E.) When I was in school, I learned to type on one of those manual typewriters that can be seen in black and white movies. Not electric, no ball things called "elements", and not on computers. Gawd I feel old. [:D] So you just went to Google and typed in Barry Manilow Bermuda Triangle Lyrics? It was that easy? I will bookmark it and try to find other lyrics, as my ex-husband wanted me to find some that were playing on the radio in the 1980s. (No, he doesn't know the names of the songs, lol, but I think he would like to see everything that was on America's Top Forty.) Some people listen to music on the web and watch movies...but I am too much of a dinosaur to be able to do that. I think my old computer would have a heart attack and croak if I even tried. Happy hunting! :p (And btw, the internet also says that the song's from the album 'Barry', but Amazon seems to only have that on vinyl.)

A deal breaker can be something that prevents you from making the deal. Hence, no agreement was ever reached. Something you learn in the discovery process after you meet but before you decide to get involved. Height could be a deal breaker. During some online communications it is not always immediately known.

I see your point......But to break means to destroy or desolve. A deal is an agreement between two or more people. You can only destroy something that exists. so if there was never a deal in the first place, someone else's behavior can cause you to reject them but there is no deal to break if you never made a deal with them.

It's sarcasm whiplash. Realistically, I have kids, it's a dealbreaker for a lot of women around my age even the Vannila ones, their kids are raised and gone and they want to have a good time, not step into a ready-made family thing - it's a dealbreaker for me if you expect me to drop my kids for you, can't do that. Otherwise, I wouldn't know what a dealbreaker might be until I saw it - racist attitudes aren't going to endear you to me, violent drunkeness or a serious drug addiction are going lead me to reassess the situation, anything that might negatively impact my kids, or lead to police involvement, etc. Hair color, height, weight, the rest of that aren't issues for me, the body is a vessel.
