Hmm... This raises an interesting thought.

If you have 2 million in assets, how do you end up owing a jeweler a half-million dollars? Perhaps this is all just to funnel money into a campaign, which can be used for living expenses the next few months?

On the other hand, I think that fiscal conservative refers to government spending, not personal spending.

If you can't control your personal spending then that's not a good indication of how you are going to control funds entrusted to you.

fargle is struggling to figure out exactly what a fiscal conservative truly is... hopefully he is picking up a few clues from some of these responses to his ridiculous OP

Putting it on credit is, BY DEFINITION, not having the money.

As well he should, since nobody in the world has seen a republican that is a fiscal conservative actually fiscally conserving. 

The term fiscal conservative when speaking of politicians of any sort is ridiculous.

It is irresponsibly premature to accuse the conservatives (rinos, republicans, independents, neo-cons, and tea party) of fiscal responsibility now or at some future time; simultaneously, it is irresponsibly inaccurate to accuse them of fiscal responsibility in the past.

Sadly in a way you are correct, fiscal conservatives cave in to leftist demands far more often than they should

And many "conservatives" are merely RINOS

Again, ones personal dealings has nothing to do with fiscal conservatism

Especially in this case, considering the fact that Newt invested in a hard fixed asset.

If his finances really were akin to the way the United States spends money it would be more like buying gold, fixing the dollar to the price of gold than throwing fake printed paper dollars away buying votes and  creating dependance among the populace on handouts

Even more worrisome: Which US Company imports nearly 34% of China's export to America? Not only are we paying them interest on the debt, but giving that country a huge trade imbalance. Now why do Republicans not fight this obvious injustice to America?
