My animals usually have pretty cool names. One time I rescued 2 tabby kittens & named one of them Spot. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I loved the name Vanessa, but I knew that she wasn't a Vanessa, so I gave that name to my next cat. Then there was Mr. Cat. He was a stray who insisted on moving in with me & after I gave in, he stayed with me until his death 14 years later. He was a very dignified cat who never would tell me his first name. He loved kittens, so I got him a Norwegian Forest Cat who had a white tipped tail. I named him Vincent Van Cat. There were the 2 littermates who I adopted who were all black, so I named them Miles Davis & Thelonius Monk. I got a kitten from the Balboa Pet Hospital & named him Rocky Balboa.

And of course, Spike the Amazing Wonder Dog. He was feral when I took him in at the age of 7-9 months. I was off work with a fractured hand, so I was able to spend every waking moment working with him. I tried naming him Buddy, but that was apparently not to his liking. Hence Spike. The addition of "the Amazing Wonder Dog" came about when he decided to learn commands. He would learn a new one about every 20 minutes that first day.

There are pictures of Spike the Amazing Wonder Dog & Miles Davis on my profile here.

My current babies were already named when I got them: Professor Orange & Sir Hemingway. They're very cool polydactyl dudes!

I am 50 miles away from them so I can only guess.

Maj and Mo (horses) are either out munching grass or napping under one of the big oaks.

Quigley the cat that believes he is a dog, is in the basement, probably sleeping on clean laundry.

If Generic Dude is not home.......Nala is out in the fenced in part of the yard, either napping in the shade or chewing on one of her big bovine leg bones. Sandy is sleeping on the loveseat and Sophie is sleeping, burrowed into her favourite blanket, on the sofa. Generic Dude would likely be at his office or out kissing babies and shaking hands.

If Generic Dude is home.....Nala is laying on the living room floor in front of the television. Sandy is on the floor with her cuz G.D. would have booted her off the loveseat, and Sophie is either burrowed in her blanket, OR, if G.D. is eating, she is sitting next to him on the loveseat, staring at him with squinty eyes, drooping (for her) ears, and making pathetic groaning noises with her right front paw on his knee. Or, he has them all outside and they are frolicking in the orchard looking for bunnies, birds and whatever else they can find to chase.

Killer, the bright yellow ancient cichlid.......is chilling in his tank that needs to be cleaned so badly it is green.

my dog is currently sleeping -- he's started snoring in his old age. =p it's cute

i'm pondering getting new rats. they're just such great little pets! i talk myself out of it, though, by remembering how quickly they die.

Yes, that is sad thing about rats. But they are awesome smart lovable little critters.

I had my nieces over last night...I have been run ragged and in need a wine cooler and a massage.

My niece at 2+ refused to eat her eggs until I made her to eat them.  She cleaned her plate and the toast as well.

I pray for my SIL and my brother.  She is a handful and I fear she is going to make mommy crying for help (at least she can get some peace at her job).

I am always gutted when they go, they are quite fragile too, I'm only having one boy left and he had the problem with his breathing and the treatment, still got a rattle after months but he's active and happy. I know if he goes no more...
