OttersSwim -> Ladies... (5/19/2011 4:48:56 AM)

If you had it all to do over again, would you do everything the same?

Would you have still left home to join those Bohemian Resistance Fighters?  Would you have married that Turkish Leopard Smuggler?  Would you have spent those twenty years chasing white tigers in the mountains of Ceylon?

Would you?

LadyConstanze -> RE: Ladies... (5/19/2011 4:59:45 AM)

White tigers? Do we really look like Sigfried and Roy?

Ironically, it was the opposite for me and only now am I giving in to my Bohemian desires.

I knew a lovely young Turk once upon a time....the only thing he wanted to smuggle was himself. I wasn't interested in his goods, at least for anything long-term.

Oh...Ceylon, now there's some good tea! I'm already packing my bags to make the journey...no white tigers for me, but I'm still open to the possibility. Very open.

I'm sure I've totally misinterpreted whatever meaning (if any) you had behind your post, but there you have it.

Would I do it again...yes and no, but I have the chance now to do a few things differently. I'll not squander the journey this time round.

GreedyTop -> RE: Ladies... (5/19/2011 5:12:13 AM)

I would.. without the experiences I have had, I would not be the person I am.. and I kinda like me. :)

I turned 40 a few months ago and asked myself that very question. Here is the answer:

May I quote Faith Evans?

"Nobody knows what life may bring
It might make you happy it might make you sad
but I know there’s a reason for everything
That’s why I keep believing
Whatever is meant to be its going to be

If I had to do it all again
I wouldn’t take away the rain
Cuz I know it made me who I am
If I had to do it all again
I’ve learn so much from my mistakes....
"

Looking back, I wouldn't change a thing. My worst days are my best stories. LOL

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: Ladies... (5/19/2011 9:42:26 AM)

The only thing I would change is marrying my ex-husband.  He and my ex-in-laws have caused and continue to cause no end of problems.  If I hadn't married him, they'd have no grounds for some of the crap they've pulled.  Even though they're ultimately unsuccessful, I've spent more time and money fighting them in court and putting the damage they cause to rights than is seemly.

Other than that, I wouldn't change anything, even the bad stuff.

Delilya -> RE: Ladies... (5/19/2011 12:32:45 PM)

The only change I would make was the 10 years of celibacy I recently broke. Now I am wondering why I waited so long.

SexyBossyBBW -> RE: Ladies... (5/19/2011 2:26:22 PM)

With the information I have now, I would have done several things differently. As it is, I am a somewhat different person today as a result, so I guess, no I wouldn't do it over. M

hlen5 -> RE: Ladies... (5/19/2011 2:29:48 PM)

I would have tried dope (any).

I was reminded of a saying as I was reading the posts here... "Do it now, it's later than you think."

I finally tried smoking the littel cigarrettes last year (in my 40s), found I wasn't missing anything. In fact, it was a scary feeling; I was stuck in my head, and couldn't turn the thought into action.

Woo-hoo!! Congrats!!

LadyPact -> RE: Ladies... (5/19/2011 7:02:04 PM)

Not exactly.  I probably would have talked with MP more during our 'courting' phase, than thinking he didn't need every detail about past relationships.   Maybe explained a little more in-depth.

Other than that, I'm pretty good with it.

MistressDarkArt -> RE: Ladies... (5/19/2011 8:44:53 PM)

I can think of 3 things I would do differently if I had a chance (I don't so it's rather unimportant now):

1. Take over the mortgage of the house by the beach offered to me for $308 a month in 1980 which is now worth...oh, never mind. Why didn't I? I bought a sailboat instead and lived on it for 12 years. Worked out OK though...I still have a house by the beach, just not THAT house in THAT location.

2. Started contra dancing in my teens instead of my 30s. Would have avoided lots of angst, stress, and general mayhem. Still, better late than never (though in contra, if you miss a step you skip it to stay on time, aka "better never than late!")

3. Started yoga in my teens instead of my late 40s. Pretty sure this would have prevented the bad posture that caused a back problem. Again, better late than never.

No regrets. It all worked out just fine, and every day is a cause for celebration!

Tantriqu -> RE: Ladies... (5/19/2011 9:31:20 PM)

Regrets? I've had a few . . . but then again, too few to mention.
I did who I wished to do and saw them through without exception.
To think I did all those, and may I say, not in a shy way.
The record shows, they took the blows,
I did them myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
Thanks to Mr. Ottawa Anka.

Seriously, sure, there are a coupla guys I wish I'd pushed just a leeetle more, and it would be nice to look in a crystal ball to see if I should have done more, but I'm pretty content.
That being said, 'Next'!

SexyBossyBBW -> RE: Ladies... (5/19/2011 10:25:18 PM)

I have plenty of regrets for not being (sexually) with quality men, because I didn't see a future with them... Wasting 1-5 years without sex, because of the upbringing "you only do men you're going to marry." Than I realized, I'd look like an idiot after the 4th marriage, and gave that up. M

I know the thread is directed at the ladies, but I'll answer anyway (I'm just that nice a guy). Oh HELL YEAH!!!! I'd do just about all of it differently. Everything except having my kids, that i wouldn't change for the world...the rest? A complete rewrite.

GreedyTop -> RE: Ladies... (5/20/2011 12:02:33 AM)

*blush* Thanks, Arpig...  I kinda like you, as well ;) *hugs*

Vendaval -> RE: Ladies... (5/21/2011 12:13:20 AM)

There are a few decisions I very much regret but not many. All of life being filled with "learn experiences" and so forth. I managed to close a car door on my thumb and have also banged the hell out of my skull under kitchen cabinetry on a couple of occasions.
