A heartfelt thank you to all who have served, and for all who continue to do so.

Thank you for starting the thread, poise.  I'd like to add My words of appreciation to those who are serving or have served in the Armed Forces.

Me too, actually. Even though it isn't our day for it, the sentiments exist at all times really. You should do what I do when I see a person in uniform...thank them. Not just today, but every day.

This points out what I try to do. For today, memorial day the 4th, labor day and veterans day. I think of our war dead and give special thought to those I knew...and are war dead.

Exactly what Arpig Said
Thanks Arpig,
Im quite adept at thanking strangers in uniform and getting a warm fuzzy when their faces look surprised at some old bint wanting to shake their hands:)

Thank you for starting this thread Sweetpea.  I was lucky enough to meet the grandsons of a few Tuskeegee Airmen when I was at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.  Surprised them to be thanked by me and to want to shake their hands as well as hear their stories.  I've also been to the War museum in Ottawa and met veterans and merchant marines and I was most pleased to be able to shake their hands also and thank them for their service.  I was with my dad and he was surprised at my actions, it actually brought a tear to the eyes of this tough man when I kissed them on the cheek also.

Thank you for those serving or who have served and their families for the sacrifices they made and make every day to ensure our safety and for trying to make the world a better place.  You all have a special place in my heart and always will.
