So we all know the 'common wisdom' - don't write rude, Master-y or Dom-y emails right away.  Don't give orders, don't verbally abuse, etc. etc.  Common wisdom says those get deleted right away, or worse, hauled out for Journal Abuse.  (Which, by the way, I'm not a huge fan of.  It's not so bad if you don't use the nic, but naming names generally went out with Stalin.) 

Common wisdom says those messages are, generally, 'unsuccessful'.  But I'm curious if that's the reality.  Certainly it's true for some.  But how true.... really?

So my question is:

Is there anyone out there who has responded to any of those kinds of messages?  And I mean of any kind- once on a lark, a couple times, 'there's a certain type that can get me to do that', online, went-and-met, etc.

I'd be curious to hear as much of the who's/when's/why's as you'd care to share.

(Please note- I'm not asking for a judgement on people who write messages like that- 'assholes', etc.  I'm not asking your opinion on how often you think it happens...)

Yes 1/100 times (estimate) this works on generally new submissives who think that they should call all males Sir and do the most of their deeper thinking in a frenzied state. Have i answered them? hmmm not here but on Winmx i know i did. I roll my eyes thinking about it now lol

When I first discovered kink websites, I used to call all Dominants "Sir" or "Ma'am" as the case were, but later on I just started calling them by their usernames. It seemed that calling them all Sir or Ma'am just urged them on to try instantly Domming me, which just irritated me and made me tell them so. I found out in short order, it's better to just consider them regular people (because they ARE).

Status: offline 		I consider those types of mail to be rude and crude.  Most times I just delete and block.  At other times I may send a rude and crude mail back, wait to see if the idiot writes back, then read his mail without opening it, delete it unread, and block.

Sounds like you're luring him into a trap....."hey, I'll connect with you [flips middle finger]!", then he actually responds...and *boom*... you're out.  Not even gonna read it.  When maybe the message started like:  'omg, I'm so sorry', or 'hey- nice game!', or more of the same crap.... You're putting a lot of people under one label.....

Status: offline 		Yeah, when I was single, if the message turned me on, I'd respond just to get my rocks off. But it never went beyond cybersex, and afterwards I would put them on ignore, having had my fun with them. So it depends what you want - an hour or two of online fun? Sure, but I don't think it works for any lasting relationships.

My first response to him was to tell him to fuck off.

His first email to me was pretty unique too.
He was blunt and sent an incredibly hot picture of himself. Thank God he wasn't all poetic and sweet.
I still remember it word for word because I knew in that instant that my life was going to take a different path.
And here we are...over three years later.
Yeah, sometimes it works.

@Coookie - I knew that but never made that connection, thanks for pointing that out.  You've gave me a little insight into those 'deleted unread' notices I (very rarely ;-)) get.

@Aileen- Very curious to know what those words were!


@playfulotter - Do you respond looking to play?  Or are you sending sassy smartass responses back?  Or both, I suppose.... ;-)

Status: offline 		i'm very new here, and to BDSM, so yes, i'm ashamed to admit that at first i did respond to the messages ... and i also felt like i needed to respond to every single message, otherwise i'd be being incredibly rude!

i've become a little smarter though, and now just block/delete anyone who talks like that, or who i can tell has not bothered to read my profile.
Wish i'd just been clever enough to do that from the start!!!

(Edited as i keep forgetting the lowercase/uppercase rule!)

ended up having some really nice chats with some of them... none were compatible with me but nice conversations anyways...

I don't respond back with snark or sarcasm because I don't really see the point in being like that..

Status: offline 		Sure there is. First letter of a new sentence is capitalized. So are proper names, first person singular (I), and names of specific things such as Metropolitan Museum of art versus museum.

As far as rude emails, usually delete but occasionally I do respond. I ask them where they were raised because it appears to be in a barn, and suggest they tell their mothers what they've been sending to strange women, and ask her for a refresher course in manners. Funny enough, I've never gotten a response to any of those.
