I usually have a rotation that includes:

*a homemade blackberry smoothie (with skim milk) OR
*frozen blackberries/fresh berries with greek yogurt OR
*a Slim-Fast shake (chocolate) OR
*a Special K protein bar OR
*A few slices of turkey bacon, one slice double-fiber wheat bread and some diet margarine

Usually one of those gets me through the morning

One piece of bread with a scrambled egg, I need protein in the morning. If he wants pancakes or french toast, then I wind up rooting in the fridge shortly afterward for some cooked chicken or  meat. I'm always hungry if I don't get some protein.

Coffee.  Sometimes meds if it's one of those mornings.

Used to be bacon, sausages, eggs, fried bread, tomatoes, heinz beans and fried bread.
Hubby would like chicken livers and or black puddingas well
with two cups of tea, and a cigarette.
20 years later
peanut butter on whole wheat toast, coffee latte and no smoke
he likes cheese on wholewheat bread and tea

Depends on which morning and how complex I feel like getting with the cookery, and whether Master has any particular requests for that day.

Typically, on the weekends, I'll do bacon, eggs, and toast. The toast is almost always done with homemade bread, especially since I'm really getting the knack of it and have a really GOOD sourdough culture going.

If I'm feeling like having something a bit different, I'll make biscuits and gravy (southern style, of course), along with the eggs.

Or I might make a 'whatever's handy' omelette. Or pancakes (white or whole wheat, I keep both sorts of flour on hand). Or waffles. Or french toast.

And if I'm feeling VERY creative, I'll make cinnamon rolls, though it's generally best to get those started the night before. None of that 'in a can' stuff for me, thank you, I make MUCH tastier ones from scratch.

If it's a weekday morning, it's usually leftovers from the night before if there are any, or a bowl of cereal, or some yogurt, or maybe a quickie egg sandwich. You know you can microwave eggs without them exploding if you do it right?

I favor brown rice, with some green leafy things(collards, kale, spinach) thrown on top the last 20 minutes. Sometimes a yam gets tossed in at the start. Lots of garlic.

One poached egg, one bit of toast, one rasher of bacon and tinned tomatoes, with a lot of pepper on them. Thus fortified, you'll leave the house feeling like you can tie lamp posts in knots.

On week days I have coffee, a yogurt, and a couple hours later some fruit. Sometimes I'll have a boiled egg instead of the yogurt. Or a toasted sandwich thin with lowfat laughing cow cheese spread on it.

On weekends I have one egg over easy (cooked on non stick with light cooking spray) and half a slice of dry whole wheat high fiber toast. And coffee, of course. And fruit. On special occasions I'll make breakfast burritos or huevos rancheros. But that's rare.

Agree, how times have changed: 20 years ago: nothing for breakfast, unless leftover pepperoni pizza.

Now: ultra-high-fibre cereal, 1% milk, coupla pieces of fruit, two cups of tea. Winter: same, except oatmeal made in the rice cooker.
Day freakin' in, day freakin' out. LE SIGH! It's tough being fabulously good, except on Christmas Day and Shrove Tuesday: BANANANANA PANCAKES with BUTTER!!!!

However, ROAD TRIP!
When in BRITAIN, land of rib-sticking fried stodge: haggis, cheese, REAL oatmeal, bacon, beans.
In Australia, bastard son of the land of uber-breakfasts: toast, blackberry jam, passionfruit, bacon bacon bacon. BACON!!!
When in the Southern US: plain, not cheesy, grits: mmm, mmm.
When in the Northern US/central Canada: cinnamon roll french toast.
When in Spain: potato omelet
Worst: Finland: saurkraut EVERY flippin' morning. Yet right across the Baltic in Amsterdam: ganache waffles and mayonnaise french fries, people. For breakfast!
Favourite: when in France/Polynesia: croissants/pain du chocolat, or just fresh french bread with unsalted butter and apricot preserves: ZOMG!

Thanks, that was fun. But now I'm STARVING!
