ORIGINAL: Lucylastic the party of NO cant take responsibility for its own impotence what have they done so far to change things for the people suffering???? apart from banging their chests and wave their dicks You've got your parties backwards. The GOP put up the Ryan plan. The 'Crats have put up nothing - they have literally offered the voters a choice between something they've been lying about and demonizing, and NOTHING AT ALL. The only reason the US government is operating at all right now is because the GOP put together a spending plan. Speaking of the party of NO, there was NO budget at all for FY 2011 until the GOP took back the House, even though the 'Crats previously controlled the House, Senate and Presidency. The Senate hasn't passed ANY budget in over 18 months - even one of it's own design. Now that's impotence and irresponsibility. The Democrats did offer a budget. http://cpc.grijalva.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=70 The Senate cannot pass a budget unless it is first passed in the House, its a rule in this quaint document called the US CONSTITUTION. Its really up to the House to make a REALISTIC plan, not a FANTASY plan. The longer the Republican controlled House screws around, the more they'll look like fools for not doing anything. The plan might include budget cuts, but to be realistic, would need to raise taxes. If the Bush Era Tax Cuts had expired like they should have (would have been wiser not to put them in place in the first place), the budget gap would be about $200-400 Billion. Since it didn't, the budget gap is $1.3 Trillion and climbing. This is one of those games, in which the Republicans can't blame the Democrats for failure to deliver a realistic bill. If they dont understand the plan has to be signed off by the Democratic controll Senate AND the Democratic President......their idiots. Come election day, they'll get quite a few angry people voting them out of office. BTW (and not to de-rail this fine discussion), where *IS* the Jobs bill the Republicans promised on the campaign trail in 2010? Nearly six months and not a single bill in sight.
