Sitting on a bank watching a float is almost meditative. Fishing more actively is still a wonderfully relaxing activity. As a young person I spent many days fishing in small ponds stocked with fish (usually cattle ponds on dairy farms). It is not any easier to catch a fish from a pond intentionally stocked than it is to catch "wild" fish.

The fishing itself is really fun for me but the cherry on top is putting food on the table in a more satisfying way..For me that is.

Anyway, the alternative energy field is opening up on all fronts, solar is but one. There are huge amounts of potential just around the corner, say, a few years from now. I think solar will eventually be the most predominately used energy source for this country and even the world. Big hopes, I know. With the new techs being developed, those being implemented now and those still in their first stages of planning, I think it's more than hope.

This is important because it takes a fair amount of effrt to skin one. For other fish generally I gut them and that kills them. Then I slice off the head if I want fillets but often I simply gut and scale the fish and cook it whole.
