Does the character have to be a regular or can they be an occasional gust star like Lady Heather on CSI?

The original idea was TV shows that feature this sort of relationship every episode.

Since this is a forum thread, your very welcome to deviate from the original topic. It's almost expected....

Definitely White Collar and if Gibbs isn't DiNozzo's Dom on NCIS there's something wrong with the universe....

I"m going to chime in on Dexter as well.

Deb and Lundy.

He was (in my mind) the perfect Dom. He lived as himself. He was completely self-assured and he held himself to a standard. He let her know the standard, and she was drawn to him, letting herself be vulnerable to him. By being the man he was, he attracted her to him. She couldn't stop herself. She wanted to please him.

She listened to the music he listened to, changed her lunch time, ate the kinds of foods he ate, and yet made it clear that she had to be the woman that she was.

Definitely D/s....

best,
sunshine

Totally agree on this one, I loved every minute Deb and Lundy were on the screen together.

I'm now recalling that scene in Boston Legal when Alan Shore went all Dom on that woman (whose name I can't remember).

*smiles fondly...and moistly*...[:D]

COME ON... James Spader... Sex Lies and Videotapes James Spader? The Secretary James Spader? Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee tell me that man is a dom in real life. If he's not, he's been on my list of ... oh heck I forgot to add him to the list of people I need to ask permission to fantasize about if I'm going to be ethical. Hello? Mr. Spader. I have a garden that needs tending. [sm=onphone.gif]

Mmmmm. James Spader. I've been fantasizing about him since Pretty in Pink. It's his voice, I think. It's velvet.

Gibbs is EVERYBODY's Dom on NCIS.

I don't know, but I suspect he got that gig after his little fling on West Wing with CJ Craig... and yep... I'd say he was perty domly there, too.

Lucy was definitely of the "Brat" sort... who knows, maybe he was into that?!!  As to Jeannie... she was clearly Topping-from-the-bottom!!! lol [;)][:D]

Little House on the Prairie...

Pa was definitely a dom... a yummy Daddy Dom... and Caroline was his submissive wife

Contrast that to Nels and and Harriet Olsen... she wore the pants in that family.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Common TV shows that feature dominant/submissive relationships? (5/30/2011 3:26:57 PM)

Definitely All in the Family.

Archie was a wannabe poly dom and edith didnt know any better than to submit to him.

I would totally disagree with Nels and Harriet. When he said no, it was NO.

Then what would that make Harriet, just a pain in the ol kiester?

Do you remember the episode where Nelly fell in love with her husband because he stood up to her?[:)]

Oh yes, I remember loving the relationship between the two of them. (Nellie and Percival)

married with Children, the neighbors, she was definitly a Mistress, he a sub.

I see All in the Family like this.  Edith appeared on the outset to be submissive to Archie but when push came to shove, she ran that family... and then there was that episode where Archie was so out of line, she yelled at him to "stifle it."

(I loved Edith).

Totally agree with Julia about Charles & Carolyn on Little House.  I loved that couple.

Anyone remember The Wonder Years?  Norma Arnold was totally submissive to Jack.

Going back a few years, The Dick Van Dyke Show - Laura was very submissive to Rob, in a sweet way.  But I wouldn't view Rob as a dominant/master of the house.  He was more of a lovable dork.  [8D]

I don't watch much modern TV so I have no idea about the more recent shows.
