To Me, kinky has always been a way of life...kinky is normal, normal is boring. Therefore, not necessarily filling a void, just avoiding ennui.

Well, lemme see. In my case I had a wonderfully vanilla and loving relationship with Carol for 12 years before collaring her. So clearly I wasn't filling that void. I'd have to guess that we had a "kinky sex" void in our lives which we are attempting to fill with "kinky sex".

I think you must not know (and I mean know as in actually know in person) many kinksters. Kinky sex is not a replacement for love. It is also not mutually exclusive with love. The fact that you think it might be and yet you still do it some of the time says more about you than anyone else. Not everybody switches off emotionally when kink is involved - in fact in my experience you're in a minority so small as to basically consist of, well, you.

Apparently in your mind it is. And I can see your dilemma: you crave kink and yet you really don't like the idea of it. All of your postings point to that. Do yourself a huge favor and find a kink aware therapist... (do a google search for kink aware professionals) and spend time looking at this seriously with assistance. Because otherwise you will be forever on the edge of self-loathing and it is impossible to have real intimacy with anyone (including yourself) while you are stuck in that state.
