Personally I prefer glass anal plug over the flexible ones, the main reason is the latex or silicon has a smell on it after several times of use.

True silicone should not do that if it is properly cleaned.
You might have that as an issue if you are not careful with what type of lube you are using.
The safest option for silicone is water-based lubes. As mentioned silicone based lubricants (such as dimethicone) can degrade silicone toys.

There are many non-pthalate alternatives btw; most better toy manufactuers are discontinuing the use of pthalates in their product.

Silicone is non-porous which is why it does not absorb odors.

I think you are right....I usually wear anal plug for extended period without having a condom containing it :S

Not to get too far off of the original topic, but does anyone know of a plug that will stay in? I have tried a number of different types claiming to be good for extended use but it seems that my slave gets so turned on that she shoots them right out, no matter what the shape, or as least the shapes I have tried up to this point. Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.

I bought some Doc Johnson silicone toy for my girl back a couple years ago, and it would burn her! and the smell was horrible, we had to throw it/them away (i think I bought 2)

Then it wasn't true silicone.

Jolly jack and Ryder are both stay put plugs. Both are silicone, I haven't tried any other materials unfortunately.

You're actually correct, I just remembered it being made of "sil-a-gel" after doing some research because of the burning issue. I knew she was allegric to silicone because she had a plug (way back) that was silicone and she had to use a condom with it. I bought the toy becuase the description claimed it wasn't silicone.
