Well, I was introduced to my dominant side by a semi-pro domme in NYC when I was in college, so I hit almost exactly your situation. I think the problem a lot of women have is that the guys they pick simply are not and never will be doms, it isn't a matter of how to "sell" them on it. There are a lot of guys out there who seem meek and too-nice at 20, precisely because the few times they were dominant with Lucy in high school she freaked out, so the guy learned not to do that or girls would get upset. Make your goal to find one of those guys, and it won't take much effort at all to unlock his potential.
I'd look more at how/who you're meeting and explore ways to find the right guys. You're obviously stunning and probably get hit on a lot just living life in NYC, but it's all the wrong guys hitting on you.
