Since oranges are a symbol of death (see http://www.jgeoff.com/godfather/oranges.html)

And "the little death" is a metaphor for "orgasm"

And kumquats are rather like little oranges...

Are kumquats symbols for orgasms?

Discuss.

they also squirt nicely when you puncture their fragile flesh. surely that's a further symbolic action of orgasm? ergo, little orange, little death (hopefully not a little orgasm)

Sure, why not. I always thought "kumquat" should have been a dirty word anyway. think about it...Jesus, Frank, don't be such a kumquat!

It just sounds dirty and related somehow to cunts. And it does have the word "kum" in it.

I'm with you on this one Sunny.

Pssst...your link seems to be broken. Is this the site you meant?

Kumquat is one of my favorite words! Right up there with Lintlicker.

For some reason, I thought pomegranate (sp?) were symbolic of death.

Apples and oranges, as it were.

Though along this line of thought, bones are thought as a symbol of death, and male erections are called 'boners'.

La pitite morte is a phrase to invoke that one has 'gone over the edge', that one has entered into an otherworldly level of bliss.

You can't just mix and match cultural terms of phrase and symbolisms.

Pick a language and i won't be able to spell in it either.

aren't pomegranate's the original Eve's apple?

although Persephone ate them and had to reside in the underworld with Hades for a period of time each year...

kumquat's are friendlier fruit, i believe

I wanted to have a discussion
About a magical fruit.
So I asked the goofballs at PRS
to talk about this food.

The kumquat's familiar
It's squishy and it's sweet.
You pop it in with rind
so simple and so neat.

So now we hear from far and near
The kumquat's nature's treat.
But did you know that when you crow
There's rind between your teeth?

I had to google it. I've never heard of them before.

I feel like such a kumquat now.

W. C. Fields used the phrase "My little kumquat" to women in his movies.

That's where I made the connection between death and Pomegranates! I couldn't quite recall the exact mythology, but knew there was one!

There was a book written in around the 2nd century CE by fakirs in India, about lovemaking, and it was called the Kumquat, I believe.
