The link is not workingA friend in Australia sent me this.

Brace Yourself

"...There is a comet heading for a very close fly-by earth, each time it has aligned with the earth and sun
over the last 18 months it has caused massive earthquakes and that's before its in our system of planets.
NASA have released a trajectory model for the comet and its pattern of flight please take the time to
see it here: http://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/sbdb.cgi?sstr=C
%2F2010%20X1;orb=1;cov=0;log=0;cad=1#orb (the comet is on the BLUE line, the date is on the
bottom right of the screen, you will have to learn how to control the forward and backward functions)
The important date regions are: (approximate, as the comet gets closer the trajectories get more
accurate)

  • June 15th (comet enters our system)
  • August 23rd
  • September 23rd (rough)
  • October 17th (crisis point very large gravitational effects on the sun and earth)
  • November 5th (crossing the tail of the comet, much debris)

Please understand that the effects on Japan and Christchurch when the planets aligned with this comet
were when it was still so far away. This year that same comet comes in between the sun and us here on
earth at a very close range with potentially devastating consequences.
NASA and other agencies are now putting the information out in the fringe media and on their own
sites, do not expect to see all about this in your main stream media sources because that may cause a
panic.
Prepare for the following, huge solar flares which stop all electrical devices, no deliveries of food
to your local shops, no water coming out of the taps, the Earth may well take large tumbles and
rolling around to deal with the changes in gravity. Put up enough food, water, hand tools, seeds
etc to ride these changes should they occur and if possible do as nature and get underground if
this triggers the catastrophic changes..."

*shrug*

If it's our time to go, then it's our time to go. I have more important things to worry about than whether or not the world is going to end tomorrow, next week, next month, or even next year.

heartcream -> RE: Food for Thought (5/31/2011 12:18:53 AM)

The point is not about "time to go" I do find it hugely fascinating, and huge, that a comet will pass between the sun and us. Soon.

Oh for the love of Mike, this sort of crap has been online as long as I have. The official looking but non-functioning link is usually a tip off.

heartcream -> RE: Food for Thought (5/31/2011 1:00:09 AM)

Is that the sign when the link wont open? The youtube shows the trajectory okay.

Well it is the ol' Que Sera Sera aint it? And soon enough! If this is incorrect information well hoop dee do. Conflagrant responses! Maybe that is what is causing all the earthquakes, floods etc!

DeviantMan -> RE: Food for Thought (5/31/2011 2:13:56 AM)

Funny enough, when I was still in my early teens (11-12), my father was obsessed with a book that had the exact same theme. I remember being so curious about what he kept reading almost 24/7, that I started reading it too. The book was called "1999: The End" And it was a scientific-appearing presentation on how comet gravitational effects, that would start in the early 90s, would cause a massive instability, on the Earth's crust, that would destroy all life on Earth by 1999. It had similar planetary allignments, and seismic activity profiles connected to them.
It was pretty serious looking, with maps, and charts, and some math to back this all up...
However, we are living in the year 2011, 13 years past the upcoming DoomsDay.
There would be no way on Earth, or any other planet, that someone would have their hands on that level of information, knowing the potential chaos it would provide before the inevitable happens, and let it leak... the damage from the leak iotself would be worse than the actual damage from the event.

heartcream -> RE: Food for Thought (5/31/2011 2:17:04 AM)

I am not sure why folks are jumping to say this Comet represents doomsday, I didnt see anything saying that. However if a bunch of useless folks get swept away, wave buh-bye to the nice lady.

DeviantMan -> RE: Food for Thought (5/31/2011 2:31:19 AM)

heartcream, I think you misread my meaning. I am not criticising you, I am criticising the credibility of the story itself. And, I've learned that, with the military-designed structure of National Security Agencies worldwide, such information will probably kept locked in the deepest vault, lest it "will create chaos".
I've been on that edge of the equation, once upon a time. And I was given information that went public, several weeks later, when the situation was resolved and rectified.
As for the links... the NASA link responds a "not found" page, and the PDF... the book(s) about Planet-X are around for more than a decade now. One of the planet's/asteroid's names, that you might find it in the pdf itself, is hercolubus.
Don't take this personally please, as I said, you are not the one judged here... the info found in the links is.

heartcream -> RE: Food for Thought (5/31/2011 2:37:11 AM)

Hey thanks, no probs, I can take criticism anyway. A comet coming, if it is coming, between the Earth and the Sun is nothing NASA or anyone else can hide or stop. Maybe folks like NASA know something we dont, maybe this particular thing is a hoax, I dont know, but it is in the realm of possibility a comet could do this.

hardcybermaster -> RE: Food for Thought (5/31/2011 2:49:55 AM)

"Comet Elenin will not encounter any dark bodies that could perturb its orbit, nor will it influence us in any way here on Earth," said Yeomans. "(Thus) It will get no closer to Earth than 35 million kilometers [about 22 million miles]. Comet Elenin will not only be far away, it is also on the small side for comets," said Yeomans. "And comets are not the most densely-packed objects out there. They usually have the density of something akin to loosely packed icy dirt. So you've got a modest-sized icy dirtball that is getting no closer than 35 million kilometers. It will have an immeasurably miniscule influence on our planet. By comparison, my subcompact automobile exerts a greater influence on the ocean's tides than comet Elenin ever will."

I think the above is more likely than the scenario the OP stated...but what do I know

Second link in the op can get you there.

DeviantMan -> RE: Food for Thought (5/31/2011 2:59:52 AM)

I was referring to the second link at the OP. The actual nasa page states the following, when I click on the link
Error Condition
No Matching Record: search string = "C"
If you've entered an object designation, please make sure you've capitalized appropriately as designations are case-sensitive. For example, use "1999 AN10" instead of "1999 an10". Names are not case-sensitive.
It is possible you've requested a newly discovered asteroid which hasn't been added to our database yet. For new objects, please check back later.

I'm sooo confused. [&:]

DeviantMan -> RE: Food for Thought (5/31/2011 3:39:12 AM)

Assuming you are stormed with the numerical overflow on that chart... these are the physical stats of some stellar object. I guess they are for the comet in question. Top left panel, holds the orbital observation elements and values, top right panel holds the orbital parameter values, and the bottom panel holds the actual comet's physical stats. Sadly, this is as far as my knowledge can let me help. I never got the chance to get into the Theory of astronomy so far, at least beyond the very basics.

cpK69 -> RE: Food for Thought (5/31/2011 3:41:52 AM)

Sorry... I meant is it a NASA page, or somthing made up to look like NASA's?

Thanks for your help.

FR

Semi-mathematically, try perspective.

How much mass does this thing have compared to the moon ? Well the moon doesn't cause much in the way of earthquakes but it does cause tides. The comet will be what 22 million miles away ? Well the moon is about 800,000 miles away at the closest. Now I'm just winging it here, but in very round numbers the comet is 22 times farther away. What is the aquare of 22 ? Well that's how much more mass it would need to equal the pull of the moon on the Earth.

Get your telescopes out and don't worry about being wafted up to Heaven.

To the OP, whoever wrote that article failed physics 101.

That comet will gravitationally affect the earth about as much as a gnat's fart in Ethiopia will cause tornadoes in Kansas.

"That comet will gravitationally affect the earth about as much as a gnat's fart in Ethiopia will cause tornadoes in Kansas."

Damn, I knew that had something to fo with it.
