I think its a method used to authenticate whats there, too. Electronic forwarding is not tamper-proof. quote:

I agree with privileged and exempt (don't want to tip Alaska's hand on any 'state secrets', after all), but personal should be fair game. Just ask any employee who works for a company if their personal emails done on company time are outside the scrutiny of their employer, and they will tell you no. Personal is where all the fundie bodies are buried.
