Hmm... first time I've started one.

Well, I ended last month with some great progress. I weighed myself at work (the only scale I use anymore) and I'm down about 26lbs from where I was a year or so ago. I got my car cleaned out for the first time in months. I have a quilt for my niece finally well under way (I've only been working on it for about 19 months now ...). We got a new puppy (yes, another dog ... this makes 6 adults and the new puppy ... plus the cats, rats, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, turtle, parakeet, and fish ...). I think I'm keeping one of the kittens. We have our garden started, and are getting ready to move the new chickens out of the garage.

Now I'm starting this month in a bit of turmoil. My boss's last day is today ... and we don't have a new one yet. They didn't even post the position as open until last Friday even though the upper levels decided to yank her about a month ago. It's fairly stressful, and at this point, I think I"m basically the "go to" person until we get a new boss ... *sigh*

Other than that, life is normal.

Good luck with stressful work... I have to admit that for the most part, my work place is a good place -- except for the occasionalhuge emergency but I just look at that as achance to shine and get some over/comp time...

We're going to Kenny Chesney this weekend, we had four glorious days off together over Memorial Day, we got out to play one weekend last month, the boi built me an amazing two level herb garden, I've done a ton of cooking, we're 1.5 weeks into South Beach, we've been away from the gym for three weeks (at least at the pace we used to go) -- I think we got to work out about 6 times in the last month. Work is very busy for both of us right now but the boi will be looking around for something new and less crazy -- I look forward to having more of her time.

In five weeks, we'll be heading off for our vacation which begins with a road trip to attend Thunder, some great traveling and a visit with the boi's family. I can't wait.

ETA -- darling boi surprised me with a notebook computer one Friday.. she had something behind her back when she picked me up at the train -- I thought it was flowers, but it was a lovely little notebook computer -- I adore it.

Life is good and joyful.

I hope all are well.

I'm back, after taking a bit of time away from CM to get my head, heart, and home into some kind of coherence. I've gotten divorced, and moved out of my parents' house...in the past month. Still on a full-time job hunt. (Good Gods, a year is WAY too damn long to be hunting!) Got a new man in my life, who is a lot more understanding of me (in that he both comprehends AND accepts me).

Took over the new practice today...spent most of the day exploring the office, figuring out where stuff is, and what I need to buy, and where my stuff will go. VERY odd to be sitting at a different desk after 15 years!

Ahhh, June...my birthday month (45...good lord, when did that happen?!?!)

School is going well...thoughts of my own business/practice in a year and plans to make it happen are all tied into this foray into study time/homework/tests (who would've thought I'd be worried about finishing my homework at this stage of the game.)

Work-wise, I'm trying to fanagle a deal to drop my weekend job and focus on my full-time one more. Working 6-7 days a week is NOT conducive to a healthy social life...le sigh. I hope to have my weekends back...cross your fingers and wish me luck!

I've been making more steps to get out and connect with my local kink community...for better or worse. I'll be going to a demo tomorrow night...in fact, the demos are really what attracted me anyway as I'm wanting to expand on my topping skills. Play partners are easy enough to find around these parts, but submissive men who want more than a slap and a tickle short-term are rare. I'm not losing sleep over it, though. I have more than enough important things to cause that. ;-)

It's great to read all the good news posted here thus far...congrats on weight loss & furbabies, roadtrips & herb gardens, New beginnings, new businesses and all the positive goodness. I hope it outshines any negatives that the universe decides to send because it knows we're strong enough to handle it.

(fast reply)

Well, since last checking in a few things have changed ...

My riding lessons are on hold because I've got something wrong with my knee. I'm going to take this time to do some light exercising and try to increase my endurance over the summer so that in the fall (hoping for some thoughts on my knee by then) I'll be ready to go back to my riding. I'm also going to be starting my search for a 'practice horse'. This will be one that is older and well trained. Is going to have to know more than me so that I can learn from it and be sound enough so that I can ride him (I get along better with boy horses - no sick jokes please - lol) for about 6 yrs or until my young horse is ready to start. He'll also have to be able to be a pasture mate to a friends ShireX cross mare. ... ohhh, and not be a quarter horse ... wow, not really into that breed. So, lately, I've been horse obsessed. Can you tell?? LOL

On the kinky front ... well, a couple of things are changing around here. The new group that formed south of us (see March roll call) has been rather under-whelming. If anything they've been rather divisive and prone to playing favorites which of course just leads to more division. I had really hoped for more but at the end of the day I just try to remind myself that they are new and that maybe this is just growing pains.

The boy that collapsed at the Taboo show (which we thought was due to exhaustion) turns out he had a cracked sternum due to a vanilla passerby striking him. I have a whole lot of thoughts on the folks responsible (and I don't mean the vanilla asshat who hit him) but I fear it would just turn into a rant so I'll leave this one alone for now.

On a more upbeat and terrifying note ... I think I've found one. LOL. Yup, all the way out in the 'wilds' of SK, CA, I think I've found a submissive man who is a real person and is seeking more than fantasy fulfillment. I'm scared out of my mind - lol. I'm finding it's easy to blather on and all but when the tread hits the pavement ... well, what if I screw it up? I also recognize that I'm putting all this pressure on myself but ... Yup, it's a scary and wonderful time.

The hunt for the farm continues, the renovations on our houses (which will finance the farm) continues, the medical conditions continue ... not a lot new on those fronts but I'll update on them as things progress.

Hope everyone has a wonderful, productive, scary summer - lol.

Holy crud it's June and I'm *still* not in a position to say that the house is set up the way I want it after the move.  The new place is nice, but the layout is so completely different that it's hard to know which rooms are best suited for what.

I'm beginning to think that My other half has been taken over by some alien life form.  He hasn't stopped shopping since we got here and if there has been an upswing in the local economy, it's because he's bought enough stuff to make the difference.  Not something I thought I'd *ever* say about MP, but there it is.  I hope he'll still feel as free with his wallet when I decide on everything I want for the dungeon.

As for the upcoming, I'll be going to Northern Exposure later this month.  It just isn't practical for Me to get to the lower forty-eight to get to SELF this year, so this will be My way of making up for that.

Threw them in the trash. At the end of 3 days me and the granddaughter will be exausted. Still have one class to finish school. To many hot days to early. It is still spring for 3 weeks yet. Have a lot of people wanting me to golf and fish with them. Of course fishing comes first. Have myself sort of weaned off from CM but miss the people to much.

I planted a HYOOJ vegetable garden with my Husband, and started a thread here on the boards to encourage and share with others who are trying to lose weight and/or get into and/or maintain better health practices - the OP should come over, btw, we'd love to see her there! I have lost somewhere between 8 and 11 lbs. in the first month. A good start.
My youngest (step)Thing (about to enter middle school, he's 10 and a half) just got accepted into an honors program for math/science, and his Father and I are -=very proud=-.

I heard from my oldest Thing by letter who got in some very bad trouble earlier this year. He is now in prison, still pre-trial. I have had to make a very hard decision with regard to this person, with whom it is no longer safe or feasible to maintain contact. I am fine, but am left with a hole in my heart.
It's a good life, I have a good (the BEST, really) Man who loves me and does right by me and my household and in whom I am well able to place all trust, I am losing weight and coming to terms with the imminent changes in my body, I have my ebooks and my spiritual studies and my gardens and my cats, I am able to stay home and raise this last child myself, I am still made of complete and utter awesome.
Yeah. It's like that.

Hi folks.... I have a few minutes to actually respond now in more than Flirtation-ese.

It's June, the time when every teacher's heart turns to.... final exams. The weather is lovely here.  I have a mountain load of work to do in this month, but I'm thinking of taking a few weeks off next month to travel.  Anyone wanna join me?  Thailand?  Cambodia?  Vietnam?  Guatemala?  Mexico?  Brazil?   I haven't decided if yet alone where.  Maybe I'll just stay here and get a massage every day... *hmmm that has merit...*

I've turned my bathroom into a rain forest - plants, steam, eucalyptus oil, teak wood.  YAY me!  Come on over folks.

best,
sunshine

Life is what happens while you are making other plans!

We had great summer plans for camping, going to Thunder, having gardens on our patio and at two of our friend's homes...then it happened.

My ex-wife can no longer afford the house she and I still own together.  It was hers as part of the separation...but now it turns out my Lady and I are going to buy it.  Kind of strange, buying a house from yourself...

And so that has, of necessity, thrown everything higgledy piggledy in a way that hasn't happened since Michael Jackson married Lisa Marie!

Showing our townhouse to find renters so we can legally break our lease, coming up with down payment monies, preparing the house (we are buying) for the appraisal at 10 this morning...and then we have started packing up all our things and moving them into storage.  We will miss our beautiful dungeon that my Lady and I spent our first winter together creating...but the house has room in the basement for a new dungeon and we will create that one too.

We close July 1, and will be moving and painting all through July...this means no Thunder for us...which is sad, but we will be in "house mode" anyway and not able to give the event all the attention it would deserve if we did attend.

5 complete rooms to paint before we move in, a fence to complete for the dog before winter comes...

Calgon take me away!

But it makes life EXCITING!!!!

OLO!!!!!! My new favourite greeting that drives others crazy. Gold star to anyone that gets it.

Except for this brain dead, paying job, I am BUSY!!!!!

My photography stuff has really picked up dramatically. I had a corporate photo shoot earlier in May and another private 'pregnant belly mushy gooey' one last weekend. Actual paying gigs! The rate I am going, I might actually make enough to break even on camera gear before I break down and get a new camera or something.

I've been doing a lot of tutorials on all the lovely whistles and bells the new CS5 Photoshop and it's additional toys, have. For ME, it's one thing to take good photos, but it's another to create spectacular photos. CS5 helps me with the latter, on a more consistent basis. Especially when a company wants a lot of shots in a short amount of time.

In my free...........time, I've been working on a new flagstone patio, stone oven/grill/fireplace, stone retaining wall, project. Not terribly complicated, except it's being built on a hillside, with 6-8 inches of gravel that was hidden under 2 inches of sod and above a base of lovely clay. Look out cuz I can swing a bigass pick axe like you would not believe......seriously........it is good to be on the look out with me swinging that thing....

Right now, the farm looks even more like a rock quarry than usual. Just don't touch any! There are specific rocks for specific purposes! We have flag stones for the patio, river rocks, lime and sand stone for the walls, grill, oven, fireplace......just no river rocks where there will be heat or baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaddddddddd things could happen! Then we have the decorative, treasure, rocks.

The flower beds are gorgeous and of course, grew in size, lately. I am always seeing something I need to add, splitting old plants and rearranging. I don't think the orchard is going to produce much this year, not a terrible thing, except for those that are used to getting jars of home made applesauce regularly. I don't know why we haven't many apples, could have been the weird cold windy spring as the trees were blooming and they didn't get pollinated.

I still have a mural painting project waiting for me and an antique dresser I bought to house DVD's sitting for refinishing in the garage. Horses that need ridden......aka they are happy fat and sassy, enjoying the plentiful green grass and me not harassing them.

There will be less motocross this year for me, not enough time. There has been less time at the gym the last couple of weeks, but I am not overly concerned.....this patio project is quite a work out.

A recent visit from a switchy kinky beloved friend fed my growly fun wants for a while.

I could ramble on and on but over all it is probably fairly boring for most, just wonderfully fulfilling for me.

Hello,

This June finds me on the sidelines again, in more ways that one. My old stomping grounds in Arizona are burning and I am watching again. The intervening years since I did that sort of work don't make it any easier.

I am a bit tense about being benche on the personal front also. Consequently, June sucks! I miss snow!

Respectfully,
Mike

Hello A/all,

It’s been some time since i’ve posted. I still lurk on occasion.

I’m no longer trying to discuss D/s with my spouse but am simply trying to develop a healthy relationship. i’ve been to a couple of munches, which were *wonderful* experiences. it felt quite liberating to be in the presence of like-minded folk.

Things are busy; i’m trying to orchestrate a career change but it’s looking uncertain. Uncertainty is a strong thread running through a lot of things these days! lol

Best wishes to A/all in their various endeavours.

Regards,
tnc

Congratulations LadyH, Ma'am!

In my travels i've operated a few small businesses and worked intimately with many more.

If You ever want to kick an idea around, grouse about a vendor or client, or just need someone to explain a problem to (so the solution will come to Your mind) it would please me greatly to assist.

Best of luck!!!
