Main floor, big high ceilings and huge windows for lots of light, bright and airy and totally unlike the gothic dungeon image. Low bookcases and comfy sofa and recliners in one corner, another corner with mats and roll cushions and low tables, sort of an Indian motif there. Great music system. Inviting enough to want to be there for things other than kinky, and big enough for someone to wield a single-tail. Dias that can be raised and lowered electrically, electric winches for suspension too. Lots and lots of pervy furniture and toy racks galore. French doors leading to a patio for outdoor play. Not exactly the secret kind of place though.

Floor to ceiling windows with a view to the ocean.
Large four poster bed. Tons of down pillows.
It wouldn't be a hidden room. It would be the bedroom with large closets to discreetly store things.
Fuck the gothic stuff. It would be light and airy with a large balcony so we could have our morning coffee while watching the sunrise over the Atlantic.
There would be a hottub on the balcony too.

crap....you took my idea!

the whole dark and dreary dungeon look for me is just depressing.

I want lots and lots of natural light, large airy windows, lots of pillows and a modern plush look with light woods. I don't have any need for a private room. Private from who??

Well, if a couple has kids, then private from them, guests, again, private, neighbors, private for outdoor nude frolicking. And the freedom that comes with that privacy.
For me tho, the main attraction to a hidden private sex room is the deliciousness of knowing there is something secret that no one else knows about, just you and your owner know its there. Your little secret.

One thing I would like to do is take a huge painters canvas, me and my owner get nekked and paint each other with all sorts of colors, then roll around on the canvas, having sex.

Then hanging the "painting" in the livingroom. Only me and my owner would know how it was made and it would make us smile every time we saw it or someone came to visit and saw it and commented on it. It would be our little secret. Kwim?

Thankfully I don't have any young ones and since I like my home to be clean and organized there would never be any toys lying around for visitors to see. And I don't really concern myself with neighbors all that much.

I guess I can understand the whole "secret" thing as a fetish. It's just not one I share in. I don't keep secrets very well lol.

Hmmm, I never thought of having a secret thing as being a fetish before. I think every or most couples have private things they dont tell anyone else about, most wouldnt tell straight-laced family and friends about their bdsm, for instance. Most would keep it private, to me a secret sex room is an extension of that privacy, something I share with my owner only, it would be just for us.

lol I just had a thought.... Maybe the secret sex room is just a by-product of watching too many of those old horror movies as a child! You know, the ones with bookcase that opens to the secret passages and the painting in the livingroom that has a hole in it and the sinister person watches everything thru it. I think I always liked the idea of a house like that! Sorta funny, huh?

A few years ago I was 1/2 way to having my set up just the way I wanted it. I had 2 cages, 2 crosses, 2 spanking benches, a suspension frame, a Y bench, a waxing table, stocks, a corner cell and more than a hundred feet of rail and hooks loaded with gear. My ultimate set up would accommodate 3 slaves, not just 2.

As far as a non secret public dungeon room for weekend parties, well, that is an other matter entirely.

My secret dungeon would just be a particularly well equipped workshop ;)
Though you just need a little imagination, a GPz1000rx makes a fine spanking bench...

Anything else can go on in the bedroom. Or elsewhere, I'd have to have a house with a nice wood stove, and a rug, and a well designed coffee table.

A somewhat spartan, utilitarian room, around 40' by 40 '. Roof criss-crossed by heavy beams with suspension points in them. Walls and floor well supplied with recessed fastening points. Furnished with custom heavy stainless steel bondage furniture, designed by me. This would include an adjustable horse, a rack, rotating and stationary frames of various sorts, and varying sizes of cages (all made from 1" stainless steel rod for psychological reasons). Racks on the walls stocked with whips, floggers, paddles, and rope, and shelves stocked with various miscellaneous toys. A smaller side room with a luxurious, but sturdy, four-poster bed. A second sideroom with a sealing door, set up for waterbondage. The whole dungeon lit with tube fluorescents and thoroughly soundproofed.
